“Then they also will answer   Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’  ( 45)  Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you,   inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’   ( 46)  And   these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”  ~Matthew 25:44-46 ~~~ What's scarier than a haunted house? Are we in the "last days"?   It seems like I hear more and more people (and pastors!) saying so.  But w hether Jesus is coming back today...or in another 2,000 years, we can (and must!) step back and see the pattern and life-change that has surrounded people that have put their faith in God from the beginning of time.  Firstly: Acknowledging that God is supreme.  He is the Creator and authority over all things, and over the world and over our lives.  Flowers, animals, babies, seasons, oceans--all are the fruit of His creativity, design and authority over the earth and all that is in it.  We can't forget Who God is .  We cannot become blinded to the wonder, mystery, truth and power of Him: or else we will lose our way, and we will forget that  God and Jesus  are  the way. They deliberately forget that God made the heavens long ago by the word of his command, and he brought the earth out from the water and surrounded it with water. ...

In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it.  ( 2)  And the Lord delivered Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, along with some of the articles from the temple of God. These he carried off to the temple of his god in Babylonia and put in the treasure house of his god.  ~Daniel 1:1-2 Nebuchadnezzar  didn't know or understand the significance of the  articles from the temple of God , but somehow...inherently, he knew  that they were valuable, and he desired them. ~~~ I think the world looks at a lasting/enduring/faithful marriage of two believers and their heart (made in God's image) wants to  take  a God-honoring and enduring marriage  back to  their  land of Babylonia  (a land that does not know God)  and place  it  in the treasure-house of  (their)  god.     The "gods" of this world...

How is our work ethic going lately? Could anyone accuse us of being more capable than all the other s around us?   When we work/when we serve/when we love.... Do we do so with great ability ?  Intention?  Fervor?  Should we?  Does it really matter how hard we come at life and our assignments within it?   Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,  ( 24)  since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.  ~Colossians 3:23-24 It does matter  how we live and conduct ourselves if we call ourselves followers of Christ.  He calls us to give life our all .   And the Bible gives us some great examples to look up to.   But..( back to us ): life's not perfect, is it?  We're not in the situation, or job, or city, or relationship that we want to be in...  We're not getting th...

One of the things that I love about spring is watching the daffodils spring up.  Out of recently frozen ground, they push forward and shine their golden blooms, welcoming the warmer temperatures and spring thaws.  And then look out(!) when the Summer blooms pop out!  Rainbows of blossoming zinnias, petunias, daisies and irises cover Summer yards and flower beds.   But the cooler temps of Fall bring the culling of gardens and the death of late Summer blooms and harvests.  Leaves change colors and then droop, dry, and drop. While many flowering plants have seen their glory days and are fading by now...this is not true for all.   I came upon a bed of happy and thriving snapdragon blossoms that were in their prime today. Let's be in our prime today for Christ.  Shine for Him.   “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. ( 15) Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it ...
