Have we lost our way to The Way?

Has that already happened in the past days and weeks?  Or are we too busy to even notice?

The lists, the recipes, the wrapping, the pressures, the "fairy-tale expectations"...have we lost focus on the real meaning of Christmas?

Are we micromanaging, hyper-stressing, and possibly hyperventilating because of Christmas?

Are we distracted by all the preparations?

As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. (39) She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. (40) But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”

(41) “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, (42) but few things are needed—or indeed only one.  Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”   ~Luke 10:38-42

Stop for a moment and just sit...at the Lord's feet.

In silence, just be with Him.  Or with carols, or with cookies and cocoa--commune with Him.

Come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord.

The tasks, the asks, and the frivolities of the man-made-Christmas-holiday often usurp our attention and affections from the (one) God and Man who MADE this holiday.

We are worried and upset about many things in these last days before, but few things are needed—or indeed only one: Jesus (Luke 10:41-42).

Choose Him today.  Choose what is better, and it will not be taken away from you (Luke 10:42).

Come to Him.

O come all ye faithful

We are faithful to You, Father.  We have gotten off track, but You/Your Word/Your purpose in this Season...brings us back.  We are faithful to You today.  Amen.

Joyful and triumphant
Father, may we shed the holiday stress and pressures and don the robes of joy and triumph that Christ's birth should birth in our hearts and our Christmas season.  Amen.
~~~
Come and behold Him
Born the King of angels
The tinsel and glitter and expensive price tags are not what we should be honoring and devoting ourselves to...they are eventually meaningless.  You were born the King of angels, Jesus!  May our spirits kneel before You today, if even for a few minutes.  Fill us with Your regal purpose and priceless, eternal meaning.  Amen.
~~~
O come let us adore Him
Lord, we come today...and now.  We have been rushing elsewhere but now our hearts and focus rush to You.  Come, let us adore You.  Amen.
 O come let us adore Him
Father, we sing it again because we need to tell ourselves it again.  Let us come.  Let us adore You.  Amen.
 O come let us adore HimChrist the Lord
Lord, don’t you care that my (family/expectations/online-persona/procrastination) has left me to do the work by myself?
Yes, He does care.  But not about the work that is left to do for the Christmas holiday.
Child-of-Mine, Child-of-Mine,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, (42) but few things are needed—or indeed only one.  Mary has chosen what is better (sitting at my feet) and it will not be taken away from her.”   ~Luke 10:41-42

O come let us adore HimChrist the Lord
Watch and see how it changes things, if we (ye faithful) will come.
Watch and see how the list fades/deeds-get-done/or deeds do NOT get done...and yet it's okay.  When we come to Him, we become joyful and triumphant rather than impatient and stressed.

('Adeste Fideles' or 'O Come All ye Faithful', written by the English Catholic priest Frederick Oakeley in 1841)

Stop for a moment and just sit...at the Lord's feet.

In silence, just be with Him.  Or with carols, or with cookies and cocoa--commune with Him.

Come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord.

So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.” (16) And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger.  ~Luke 2:15-16
