The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.  The world and all its people belong to him.  (2) For he laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths.  ~Psalm 24:1-2

We belong to Him, but also…our world belongs to Him: and everything in it.  Everything.  Every tree and flower, every person, every pelican, everything.

How are we responding to that glorious Truth today?

Can we praise Him today?  Can we acknowledge and absorb (and respond!) to the awesome Truth that we belong to Himthe Creator of all things, and our Creator?  He laid the earth’s foundation...and (even) the earth knows that it belongs to him...Do we?

Are we choosing to respond to Him today?

The trees do.

Looking out my window as I read these words of God, I saw these words proven by God as naked tree-branch arms were raised in praise of their Creator as the sun was rising for the day.

(1) The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it.  The world...belong(s) to him.  ~Psalm 24:1

May we join Creation in praising the King of Glory today.

3) Who may climb the mountain of the Lord?  Who may stand in his holy place?  (4) Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies.  ~Psalm 24:3-4

Holy and Almighty Father, draw us nearer to You today.  The closer we come to You, the more pure our hands and hearts will become.  The things we do and the words and deeds we produce will reveal our purity, and our nearness to You.

We seek You, Father.  We yearn to "climb the mountain" that leads to You and we are taking positive steps toward You right now.  May our hands and hearts be pure.  May we stand in Your holy place today, Lord.  May we stand in your Scripture, and may we stand in your Truth.  And may we stand FOR YOU today, Lord, so that we might climb Your mountain and stand in Your holy place today.  Amen.

(5) They will receive the Lord’s blessing and have a right relationship with God their savior.  (6) Such people may seek you and worship in your presence, O God of Jacob.  ~Psalm 24:5-6

Father, having a right relationship with You, our savior IS to receive the Lord’s blessing!  And this (YOU!) are our only foundation to true FULLNESS of blessing!  And what more could we (honestly) desire?

Worldly "blessings" disappoint everytime because without YOU, there is no depth or fulfillment to them, only momentary rushes and then the unavoidable return to emptiness.

Haven't we caught-on to that yet?  Haven't we become (spiritually/emotionally/physically) exhausted by that yet?

Rescue us today from momentary/worldly/empty/fraudulent glory...by restoring our right relationship with God our savior.

Awaken our hearts to the whisper of our Creator.  May we straighten-up and stand tall as we yearn and reach for You today, Lord.  May we extend ourselves in worship to You because WE ARE YOURS and we belong to You, Father.

If we have closed our gates to You in the past, open them up today, Lord.  Where we are stubborn---Open up our ancient gates.  Where we have been hurt...Open up our ancient doors.  Where we have grown cold...pry open our gates and enter afresh, rekindling our fire for You, O King of glory.

Open up, ancient gates!  Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter.  (8) Who is the King of glory?  The Lord, strong and mighty; the Lord, invincible in battle.  (9) Open up, ancient gates!  Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter.  (10) Who is the King of glory?  The Lord of Heaven’s Armies—he is the King of glory.  ~Psalm 24:7-10
