It is impossible for the Lord to forget us.
He never will. If we feel abandoned today or alone, His word reminds us of how very close in proximity and in spirit He truly is to us today.
Lets paint a picture:
Could we forget that baby? That dependent-on-us, defenseless-without-us baby? It's just about impossible that a mother will forget her child. That child is a part of her. That child is her joy. That child's suffering brings her pain. In that child are her hopes and dreams. No, a (normal/functioning) mother cannot forget her baby or choose not to have compassion on it. It is how God designed parents, and families.
We get the picture: a mother with her baby...it's intimate and she won't forget him or her.
Beloved...
To those of us who feel desolate, abandoned, or alone today...
To those of us who feel unworthy, ashamed or too-sinful today...
To those of us whose faith is rusty, we've been absent, or we've been on the run from God...could He possibly remember us today?
It is impossible for the Lord to forget us.
He never will. His word reminds us of how very close in proximity and in spirit He truly is to us today.
“The Lord has forsaken me, the Lord has forgotten me.”
(15) “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! (16) See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me. ~Isaiah 49:14-16
All of those images of a devoted and fierce mother are multiplied beyond our understanding in how God feels about us.
It would be almost impossible for a mother to forget her child, but the Lord says to us plainly that even if that were to occur: Though she may forget, I will not forget you!
The Lord will not forget you today. We are a part of God...He created us.
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. (14) I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. (15) My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. (16) Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. ~Psalm 139:13-16

The Lord will not forget you today. We are joy to our Heavenly Father.
The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” ~Zephaniah 3:17

The Lord will not forget you today. Our suffering brings Him pain.
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. (16) Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. ~Hebrews 4:15-16

The Lord will not forget you today. He has hopes and dreams for us.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. ~Jeremiah 29:11

It is impossible for the Lord to forget us.
He never will.
He tells us: See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands (Isaiah 49:16). There we are, right next to the nail holes from His crucifixion. Both are engravings of His love for us.

Please don't feel as if we are going-it-alone today. That couldn't be further from the truth.
We are His beloved children, and it is impossible for our Heavenly Father to forget us. xoxo
