The good man can look forward to happiness.  ~Proverbs 11:23

I feel like there is a lot of talk these days about the end of days.

We all know that Jesus Christ was crucified, resurrected, and then ascended (went up) to Heaven, but did we know that the Bible speaks of Him coming back down?

No one knows what day that will be, and the Bible makes that (unclarity) clear:  “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father" (Matthew 24:36).

But..although we don't know the day or hourJesus cited signs and warnings for us to be on the lookout for.

Just wondering: do you think that we can "check any of these boxes" in our world today?:

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. (2) People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, (3) without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, (4) treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— (5) having a form of godliness but denying its power.
Have nothing to do with such people.  ~2 Timothy 3:1-5

Just wondering: are we guarding our hearts and minds with the truth of God (Bible) so that we are not deceived?  There is both peace and warning in what Jesus tells us is coming.

Do you think that we can "check any of these boxes" in our world today?:

As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”

(4) Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. (5) For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many.

(6) You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. (7) Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.

There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. (8) All these are the beginning of birth pains.  ~Matthew 24:3-8

Wars and rumors of wars...There will be famines and earthquakes in various places... ~Matthew 24:6-7

My husband told me that yesterday (at the writing of this), there were seven separate earthquakes in the United States involving California and Texas, but also Hawaii, Alaska, North Carolina, New Jersey and more.

New Jersey?  (Yesterday's was the strongest there in over 240 years, one news source said).

And don't get me started on the seismic activity in (just) the past week around the world: it's a lot:

But earthquakes and self-focused (lovers of self) people are not what God wants us to focus on today.  These are things that may be here and close, but we also have to be (well) aware that the people standing next to Jesus as He spoke these words in person also thought that these things (happening then too) meant that Jesus would be back soon.

The truth is, we must know the Truth (what God tells us in His Word about what to expect when Christ returns), but we must also live today in alignment with Christ and following His ways.  The details (and exact dates) of everything else are up to God.

“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. (37) As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. (38) For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; (39) and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away.

That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. (40) Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. (41) Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.

(42) “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. (43) But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. (44) So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.  ~Matthew 24:36-51

I'm not sure when...no one can be, but we can be sure that our hearts are readied and stand with Christ.  In this way, the day or hour of His return matter not because we are all-ready ready.

Are you ready?

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (17) For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

(18) Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.  ~John 3:16-18
