Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.   ~Galatians 6:7

God can not be mocked.

Man makes his selfish boasts, but do not be fooled, or else you will be shocked...because God cannot be mocked.

The opening ceremonies of our recent Olympics made a mockery of more than one Biblical accounts, including the Last Supper.

Let the reader be reminded of Who created the world: The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it... (Psalm 24:1).

The earth is the Lord's, and we are too.

We will answer to God Almighty one day in judgment.  We will reap what we sow.

Those who have put their faith into Christ Jesus have not one iota to fear.  In Christ we have received forgiveness and been absolved of our sins.  And if we are serving God, then we are not mocking God.

But what about those who are mocking Him?

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked.  ~Galatians 6:7

God alone determines the consequence and penalty of those that mock Him.  Do not be deceived in thinking that there will be no consequence.  God cannot be mocked.

We will answer to God Almighty in judgment, but God alone determines the when and where.  The now or later.

The reaping for Sennacherib king of Assyria came in real time with his mockery of God.

“This is what Sennacherib king of Assyria says: On what are you basing your confidence, that you remain in Jerusalem under siege? (11) When Hezekiah says, ‘The Lord our God will save us from the hand of the king of Assyria,’ he is misleading you, to let you die of hunger and thirst...

(13) “Do you not know what I and my predecessors have done to all the peoples of the other lands? Were the gods of those nations ever able to deliver their land from my hand? (14) Who of all the gods of these nations that my predecessors destroyed has been able to save his people from me? How then can your god deliver you from my hand? (15) Now do not let Hezekiah deceive you and mislead you like this. Do not believe him, for no god of any nation or kingdom has been able to deliver his people from my hand or the hand of my predecessors. How much less will your god deliver you from my hand!”

(16) Sennacherib’s officers spoke further against the Lord God and against his servant Hezekiah. (17) The king also wrote letters ridiculing the Lord, the God of Israel, and saying this against him: “Just as the gods of the peoples of the other lands did not rescue their people from my hand, so the god of Hezekiah will not rescue his people from my hand.”... (19) They spoke about the God of Jerusalem as they did about the gods of the other peoples of the world—the work of human hands.

(20) King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz cried out in prayer to heaven about this. (21) And the Lord sent an angel, who annihilated all the fighting men and the commanders and officers in the camp of the Assyrian king. So he withdrew to his own land in disgrace. And when he went into the temple of his god, some of his sons, his own flesh and blood, cut him down with the sword.

(22) So the Lord saved Hezekiah and the people of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib king of Assyria and from the hand of all others.   ~2 Chronicles 32:10-11, 13-17, 19-22

God cannot be mocked (Galatians 6:6), and Sennacherib learned that the hard way and immediately.

People, culture, pride, and even wickedness may get bold.

May get loud.

And may mock the power and authority of our Lord.  But this (in no way) emasculates or nullifies the power and authority of our Lord.

Earlier this year, a Turkish lawmaker mocked God on the floor of his parliament, and when his blasphemous speech (telling Israel that they would "not be able to escape the wrath of God" for its war in Gaza) came to an end, so did he.

The death of Hasan Bitmez, 53, a member of parliament from the Islamist Saadet Partisi, or Felicity Party, came days after (he) collapsed at the Turkish Grand National Assembly... immediately after criticizing the Turkish government’s policy regarding the Israel-Hamas war.

In a translated version of his speech... Bitmez said, "Even if history remains silent, the truth will not remain silent. They think that if they get rid of us, there will be no problem. However, if you get rid of us, you will not be able to escape the torment of conscience. Even if you escape the torment of history, you will not be able to escape the wrath of God."

He then turned and fainted, hitting his head on what appeared to be a marble floor.... Bitmez was then rushed to the hospital in "extremely serious and critical" condition. He later died (Fox News/December 14, 2023).

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.   ~Galatians 6:7

~~~
God will not be mocked, and we will be judged for our reverence to Him...if not today then one day when we meet Him.
This is not Scripture-in-real-time news to scare us.  This is if-we-need-a-reminder-today-that-we-serve-a holy, almighty, and sovereign God, who created the world and created us, and created us to be in relationship with Him.
Not to be in mockery of Him. God will not be mocked.
~~~

There is no Grim Reaper if we are not mocking God.  The Bible says that we will reap eternal life.

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. (8) Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
