Corona Devo 2051
It is Fall in Ohio. That means pumpkin patches, and apple picking, and nights that are chilly. My husband and I still like to sleep with the windows open, but when I hop into bed at night lately: it's cold!
And as the night proceeds, the temperature outside drops, so...it gets colder.
But I found the remedy for staying warm all night and waking up toasty warm in the morning: fuzzy socks.
Aaaahhhh. So soft. So warm. So fuzzy.
Fuzzy socks are a comfort and a provider of continued-warmth for me. Plus, they feel so good! I'm not sure exactly what the temperature/comfort/soft-material math equation is...but fuzzy socks are beyond soft and they provide extended warmth that wakes me up happy. Aaaahhhh. Go ahead--leave the window open.

Brothers and Sisters in Christ: let's put on the love of God and let's read His Word today.
Aaaahhhh. Have we slipped on the unconditional love of our Savior lately? It feels so good! The world is constantly cutting us down, but the Lord is equally consistent in His long-suffering love for us. The love of our Heavenly Father is unending, unrelenting, and unchanging. The world, our circumstances, and our emotions may change, but God will not. Ever.
- Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. ~James 1:17
- And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, (7) keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin... ~Exodus 34:6-7
Aaaahhhh. Slip the love of our Savior on for size today.
- The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. ~Psalm 18:2
The Lord and our Savior Jesus Christ are consistent in their provision and their ever-presence with us. They are always with us.
- The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. (2) He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, (3) he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. (4) Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. ~Psalm 23:1-4
- “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”). ~Matthew 1:23
Aaaahhhh. God's love is so warm...comforting. Nothing else satisfies and nurtures our hearts like our Lord. He made us. He delights in us. He longs for connection and intimacy with us. Let's be held by our Heavenly Father today.
- The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” ~Zephaniah 3:17
- My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life. ~Psalm 119:50
Aaaahhhh. When we read the Bible, God covers us, He coats us, He speaks to us and He speaks into our situations. Nothing else can or will serve and protect us more than the Truths of God's Word. Aaaahhhh, come home to Him today.
- Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” ~Matthew 11:28
There is a tangible difference in our day and spiritual temperature after we apply the Lord to our mind and heart and day.
- You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. ~Isaiah 26:3
We have found the remedy for staying spiritually-fed and warmed all night and all day: our God and His Word, all night and all day.
- These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. (7) Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. (8) Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. (9) Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. ~Deuteronomy 6:6-9
Aaaahhhh. Go ahead--leave the window open, and leave our Bible open. We have everything we need to wake up warm and cozy in Christ.
- But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble. ~Psalm 59:16
