Are we in the fire today?

Are we bound by invisible ropes that render our efforts/dreams/hopes impotent?

Was our current circumstance sprung on us? No time to think...just forced to react?

Can we withstand these outside forces that bear down on us today?

Brothers and Sisters in Christ: We know the answer(s) to that question.

  • Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”  ~Matthew 19:26
  • What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?  ~Romans 8:31

Living boldly for God today is like riding in a roller coaster car.  Some days and moments are thrilling and amazing: People's hearts (including our own), are seeking God and lives are being changed for the better and for God's glory!  Wheeee!

But there are also days when this ride is scary and on an ever-downward spiral...and we want off.  We are burdened by the fires, and ropes, and threats of darkness and we wonder if we are going to make it through unscathed?

Some of us are wondering: Will we make it through today?

Brothers and Sisters in Christ: We know the answer(s) to that question.

  • “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”  ~John 16:33
  • So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.  ~Isaiah 41:10

Does it feel today as if the furnace has been heated seven times hotter than usual?

Does it seem today as if someone has commanded some of the strongest soldiers in his army to tie us up?

Do we feel bound?

Have we been thrown into a blazing furnace-type situation?

Are we falling...
                            falling....
                                            falling?

Brothers and Sisters, let's lift up our eyes.

I lift up my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from?
(2) My help comes from the Lordthe Maker of heaven and earth.
(3) He will not let your foot slip—he who watches over you will not slumber;
(4) indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
(5) The Lord watches over you—the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
(6) the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
(7) The Lord will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life;
(8) the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.  ~Psalm 121:1-8

Yes, as God's sons and daughters living for His light in this dark world: we will absolutely be bound by the devil's minions sometimes...but God always undoes our ropes.

Yes, the fires of hell burn in-real-time in our lives sometimes because this world is not our home.  But the Bible is God's promise and hope to us--of His presence and protection: even in the fire.
 ...the fire had not harmed their bodies, nor was a hair of their heads singed; their robes were not scorched, and there was no smell of fire on them. ~Daniel 3:27

Can we
Will we
DO WE
Have victory today because our Lord walks with us?

Brothers and Sisters in Christ: We know the answer(s) to that question.

Then King Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement and asked his advisers, “Weren’t there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?”

They replied, “Certainly, Your Majesty.”

(25) He said, “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.”

(26) Nebuchadnezzar then approached the opening of the blazing furnace and shouted, “Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out! Come here!”

So Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came out of the fire, (27) and the satraps, prefects, governors and royal advisers crowded around them. They saw that the fire had not harmed their bodies, nor was a hair of their heads singed; their robes were not scorched, and there was no smell of fire on them.

(28) Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants!

They trusted in him and defied the king’s command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.

(29) Therefore I decree that the people of any nation or language who say anything against the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego be cut into pieces and their houses be turned into piles of rubble, for no other god can save in this way.”

(30) Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the province of Babylon.  ~Daniel 3:16-30

Let's be encouraged, Brothers and Sisters in Christ. The Lord protects us today. God frees us today. He will not abandon us in the fire today.

Blessings,
