 “That same hour the judgment was fulfilled, and Nebuchadnezzar was driven from human society. He ate grass like a cow, and he was drenched with the dew of heaven. He lived this way until his hair was as long as eagles’ feathers and his nails were like birds’ claws.

“That same hour the judgment was fulfilled...  ~Daniel 4:33

Brothers and Sisters: there will be an hour when judgment is fulfilled in regards to our lives and sin in our lives.

Because we serve a holy God, judgment regarding our sin is required by Him.  

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.  ~II Corinthians 5:10

The Bible says that judgment will be fulfilled.  But for those that know and have accepted Christ into their hearts and lives: He has fulfilled our judgment.  The payment, the consequence, the sacrifice: It is finished.

After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!” (29) Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth. (30) So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.  ~John 19:28-30

If we've submitted to God...our judgement has been handled by Him.  King Nebuchadnezzar (in the Old Testament Book of Daniel) had not submitted his heart to God, and thus, his judgment was on his shoulders when the time (hour) came.  

 “That same hour the judgment was fulfilled, and Nebuchadnezzar was driven from human society. He ate grass like a cow, and he was drenched with the dew of heaven. He lived this way until his hair was as long as eagles’ feathers and his nails were like birds’ claws.  ~Daniel 4:33

Wow.  Nebuchadnezzar had an interesting judgment, but when it was over...

“After this time had passed, I, Nebuchadnezzar, looked up to heaven. My sanity returned, and I praised and worshiped the Most High and honored the one who lives forever.  ~Daniel 4:34

After Nebuchadnezzar had done-his-time in judgment...He was free to worship and praise the Lord, and he did.  

The outstanding news for followers of Christ (you and me!) is that "this (judgment) time has passed" for us too.  We do not have to live in the isolation of sin and the desolation of guilt from partaking in it.  We also do not need to fear the hour the judgment is fulfilled...IF we know Jesus.

Because--IF we know Jesus--it's been fulfilled.  

That doesn't mean we should sin freely as a result, because we're absolved.  Not at all.  We should (instead) be jolted by the generosity and grace of God to sin as little as possible before Him.

God's requirements (afterall) are for our good.  

Sin steals from us.  It distracts us from what God has for us.  

Sin makes us crazy.  It turns our minds, lives, and spirits into a wilderness.  Barren.  Lonely.  Unrecognizable.

Beloved...Let's get out of that (sinful) place today!  

Our time without God can pass just as quickly as we want it to.  Receive Him today, and God will come and dwell with us today.  

 “After this time had passed, I, Nebuchadnezzar, looked up to heaven. My sanity returned, and I praised and worshiped the Most High and honored the one who lives forever.  ~Daniel 4:34

Aaaaahhhhh.  Amazing.  Do we remember accepting Christ into our life for the first time, and how it felt: Relaxed.  Relief.  Peace.  Joy.

That was how Nebuchadnezzar felt before God after his judgement had been paid.  

That's how we can feel.  

We do not have to fear the hour the judgment is fulfilled...if we fear God.

Repent now and be saved.

Jesus hung for us in the hour of judgment, and so today we can rejoice and boast about him.

Lord, let our sanity return today.  

Lord, may we praise and worship YOU(!) the Most High and honored one who lives forever today (Daniel 4:34).

Father, bless our faith for You today.

 “When my sanity returned to me, so did my honor and glory and kingdom. My advisers and nobles sought me out, and I was restored as head of my kingdom, with even greater honor than before.  (37) “Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and glorify and honor the King of heaven. All his acts are just and true, and he is able to humble the proud.”  ~Daniel 4:36-37

When we submit our hearts and agenda to God, He moves.  And God always does more for us than we can imagine.  (Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, (21) to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.  ~Revelation 3:20-21).

Believe in our Lord today.  Stop sinning today.  Be made new today.  
And we will see what God has in store for us today.
