Corona Devo 2078


Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.  I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.  ~Psalm 63:3-4

Gratitude.  Gratitude.  Gratitude. 

Grateful.

Have we said, “Thank You” to the Lord lately?

Have we realized recently all that we are provided and blessed with by our Heavenly Father?

In our hectic-pace and in the world’s attitude of entitlement…we often expect and even demand what comes our way.  But none of it is a given, and all of it is given by our Lord.

Have we said, “Thank You” to the Lord lately?

Gratitude.  Gratitude.  Gratitude. 

Let’s put it in our attitude today.

  • Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.  ~James 1:17
  • Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago.  ~Isaiah 25:1

For the bounty of food and meals and provision in our cupboards and pantries and bellies: we are thankful to You, Lord for spiritual and physical food.  Amen.

  • She went away and did as Elijah had told her. So there was food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her family. (16) For the jar of flour was not used up and the jug of oil did not run dry, in keeping with the word of the Lord spoken by Elijah.  ~I Kings 17:15-16  
  • Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.  ~Genesis 1:29 
Have we said, “Thank You” to the Lord lately?

Be grateful.
We are grateful.

~

For the ties that bind between friends and family—we praise the Lord for His gift of love and His example of it to us.  Sacrificial.  Unconditional.  Functional.  Healthy.  Our Lord’s love for us patterns our love for others.  Have we said, “Thank You”, lately?

  • We love because he first loved us.  ~I John 4:19 
  • For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.  ~John 3:17

Gratitude.  Gratitude.  Gratitude.   Let’s put it in our attitude today.

Plans… God’s plan.  The arrangements that God has made for us throughout our lives.  The groundwork laid and the outcomes produced…by Him.  “Fate” is a farce, but faith defines and displays the work of God in our lives.  Whether we are (always) aware of it or not…God is at work, and His plans are for the good of those who love Him.

Thank the Lord today for the known and unknown plans that He has orchestrated in our lives.

  • And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.  ~Romans 8:28  
  • For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  ~Jeremiah 29:11
  • ...all the days ordained for me were written in your book
        before one of them came to be.  ~Psalm 139:16

Lord, we are grateful for Your dominion over our lives: today and yesterday and forever.  We are grateful if we are able to absorb Your mastery over both our mundane monotony and our momentous occasions.  Gratitude.  Gratitude.  Gratitude.   We are grateful to You today, God.  Amen.

I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever.  Psalm 145:1

Food on the table.  Provision for today.  Meaningful relationships and friendships.  Family.  Purpose.  Salvation.  Hope.  Heaven.

For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; (5) for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.  ~I Timothy 4:4-5

Have we said, “Thank You”, lately?

Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.  ~Psalm 103:1

Gratitude.  Gratitude.  Gratitude. 

Let’s put it in our attitude today.

I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving.  ~Psalm 69:30

It’s never too late to turn to the Lord.   And--it’s never too late to turn back to the Lord.   Do we GET IT?   King Hezekiah GOT IT.   The people in his area (Israel) had not been following the Lord, and they had fallen away from the (God-ordained) traditions that the Lord had designed to connect His people with Himself,  like going to church (Temple), and like celebrating the festival of Passover.  So they sent a proclamation throughout all Israel...inviting everyone to come to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover of the  Lord , the God of Israel. The people had not been celebrating it in great numbers as required in the Law ( 2 Chronicles 30:5). Hezekiah  invited the people back to church!  But how to get the word out? Ever been around boys (of any age)?  They don't concern themselves with talking about   other  boys...they are not (usually) comparative that way, and would prefer to be competitive instead.  They are often contented with jokes and sounds, rather than defaming other guys or discussing their shortfalls. But...ever been around women ( of any age )?  For some sinful reason, our conversations often seem to p ick-a-little, talk-a-little, pick some more and talk, talk, talk about other women.  We  simmer into a boil as we digress and regress into unbecoming chatter about   other  women.   It's a terrible habit and yet girls in elementary school don't need to be taught how and even elderly church biddies can't quite fully withdraw.  We all still fall to condemning others  from time to time.  We have this sinful draw to make ourselves feel good by chirping back and forth and making someone   else   feel bad. The earth is the   Lord ’s, and everything in it.   The world and all its people belong to him.   (2)  For he laid the earth’s foundation on the seas  and built it on the ocean depths.   ~Psalm 24:1-2 We belong to Him, but also…our world belongs to Him: and  everything in it .   Everything.   Every tree and flower, every person, every pelican, everything. How are we responding to that glorious Truth today?   Can we praise Him today?  Can we acknowledge and absorb (and respond!) to the awesome Truth that we belong to Him :  the Creator of all things, and our Creator?   He laid the earth’s foundation ...and (even)  the earth  knows that it belongs to him ...
