A fool vents all his feelings, but a wise man holds them back.  ~Proverbs 29:11

Does a fool come to mind?

Are we thinking of someone who is always venting?  Always opinion-ating.  Always commenting.  Always criticizing?

In Proverbs 29:11, God's Word for us today, God is speaking of someone who lets everyone know their feelings about what is not meeting their standards of approval: a fool

Does a fool come to mind?

God is speaking today to someone (a fool) who vents all his feelings.  I am thinking of someone, are you?

(To me), This verse boldly highlights one person in my life who often vents their feelings and rarely wisely holds anything back...ME(!).

A fool vents all his feelings, but a wise man holds them back.  ~Proverbs 29:11

Guilty as charged, Lord.

When was the last time we quietly held our feelings/opinion back?

Do you know what really ticks me off?

Do my people/my family/my friends/ know what really ticks me off?  You bet they do...because I usually...I vent all my feelings to them.  Do you do the same with those close to you...or anyone within earshot?

God is speaking to someone today who vents all their feelings (A fool vents all his feelings).  But God is also teaching the fool how to do better: but a wise man holds them back (Proverbs 29:11).

Lord, stop us from venting all our feelings today, please.  Fools say everything they feel.  Fools vent their every dissatisfaction with situations/others/the world, but a wise man holds them back.  Make us wise men and women in Your image today, Father.  Close our vent.  Amen.
