We got a letter today!  And it's comforting...and personalized...and tender.

It's from Jude.
Who's Jude?
We know Jude...

Jude was a follower of Jesus.  Jude was contemporary of Jesus.  Jude was a half-brother of Jesus (his parents were Mary and Joseph too).  And by his own words, Jude was a slave of Jesus Christ and a brother of James.

This letter is from Jude, a slave of Jesus Christ and a brother of James.  I am writing to all who have been called by God the Father, who loves you and keeps you safe in the care of Jesus Christ. (2) May God give you more and more mercy, peace, and love.  ~Jude 1:1-2

Jude wrote a letter to us: I am writing to all who have been called by God the Father... (Jude 1:1).

Beloved, we have been called by God the Father, who (Receive it today!) loves us and keeps us safe in the care of Jesus Christ.

Yes, Jude.   Thank you for your letter, Jude.
Lord, thank you for Your letter to us today.  We need your protection over us and the reminder and promise that You keep us safe today.

...God the Father, who loves you and keeps you safe in the care of Jesus Christ.  ~Jude 1:1

May God give you more and more mercy, peace, and love.  ~Jude 1:2

Yes, Jude.  Thank you, Jude.  Thank you, Lord.
Yes, God!...we would be blessed to receive more and more mercy.

~~~
Yes, Jude.  Thank you, Jude.  Thank you, Lord.   (Yes, God!)... Increased peace would change our reactions, our mindset, and our hearts today.  May God give you more and more mercy, peace, and love today (Jude 1:2).
~~~

Yes, Jude!  (Yes, God!)...
Your love is better than life (Psalm 63:3).
Your love fills us and fulfills our longings beyond what anyone or anything else can.  Yes, Lord, we are overly grateful for Your love of us.  May God give you more and more mercy, peace, and love today (Jude 1:2).

Do we need a letter-of-love in our heart's mailbox today?

We've received one from Jude.

He has correctly addressed it to you and me: "I am writing to all who have been called by God the Father" (Jude 1:1).

Yep!  That's us!

I remember when our oldest was just five months old, and he received a card in the mail from his Great-Gramma.  It was addressed to "Master Caleb".

At only five-months of age, he didn't understand that grandiose title ("master")  He couldn't even read that title, but his great-gramma loved him so much that she was bestowing that title on him before he could even appreciate it.

God does the same thing for us here in Jude's letter to us.

I am writing to all who have been called by God the Father, who loves you and keeps you safe in the care of Jesus Christ.  ~Jude 1:1

There's a part of me that knows that we (as mere mortals) can't even grasp the full meaning and honor of this verse and the grandiose title that God gives us by saying that we have been called by God the Father, who loves you and keeps you safe in the care of Jesus Christ (Jude 1:1).

Honestly, we don't know the half of what that fully means.

But our great-God loves us so much that He bestows this verse (and promise) on us before we can even fully appreciate it.

Thank you for your letter, Jude.
Lord, thank you for Your letter to us today.

~~~
We've been called by God, Brothers and Sisters.
God the Father loves us, fellow followers of His Way.
Our God and King keeps us safe in the care of Jesus Christ.
We got a letter today!  And it's comforting...and personalized...and tender.
And we can thank Jude for addressing this letter to our hearts today.
This letter is from Jude, a slave of Jesus Christ and a brother of James.  I am writing to all who have been called by God the Father, who loves you and keeps you safe in the care of Jesus Christ. (2) May God give you more and more mercy, peace, and love.  ~Jude 1:1-2
