“Then, after doing all those things, I will pour out my Spirit upon all people.

Your sons and daughters will prophesy.

Your old men will dream dreams, and your young men will see visions.

(29) In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on servants—men and women alike.   ~Joel 2:28-29

~~~
I will pour out my spirit…
Have we seen it?
Are we seeing His spirit being poured out on people?
The Bible says not to be surprised when we do.
Are our sons and daughters prophesying?
The Bible says not to be surprised when they do.
  • A (senior in high school) friend of our family announced his football signing with a Division One university recently.  The first words out of his mouth at the public event (and in his online post) attributed the life-decision to "much prayer", and he went on to thank Jesus for this opportunity in his life.
  • A friend of mine recently started attending a new church, and he told me that he cannot believe the volumes of students and young adults within their sanctuary on Sunday mornings!  Droves of young people are coming to church dressed up and looking nice...and looking to Jesus to direct their steps and lives.  I see it in my church on Sunday mornings too.  I pray to the Lord that you also see this outstanding trend of increased youth in your church too.  And if not, let’s investigate...why not
  • I know an increasing number of young people who have their drivers license and go to church on their own most Sunday's.  I am unsure of what the circumstances are with their parents, but I hear about (and see!) more and more young adults choosing church for themselves and often by themselves.
“Then, after doing all those things, I will pour out my Spirit upon all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy.
Your old men will dream dreams, and your young men will see visions.
(29) In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on servants—men and women alike.   ~Joel 2:28-29
The Lord is absolutely pouring out His spirit upon all people and our sons and daughters are prophesying in His name.
Your old men will dream dreams...  ~Joel 2:38
I know a guy who has shared with us more than once about a reoccurring (vivid) dream that he has of a bright, beautiful, all-encompassing, and all-colored light in the sky.  It seems to draw and pull everything around it into it until…POOF!  There is a flash and nothing is left (in the world).
What does it mean?  I do not know.
But old men are dreaming dreams, and don't be surprised when they do.
Are we seeing wonders in the heavens and on the earth?
The Bible says not to be surprised when we do.
And I will cause wonders in the heavens and on the earth—blood and fire and columns of smoke. (31) The sun will become dark, and the moon will turn blood red before that great and terrible day of the Lord arrives.   ~Joel 2:30-31
I haven’t seen this yet…have you?
This WILL be surprising to see.  But the Bible says that we will see it, and don’t be surprised when we do.  God’s Word fore-shadows, fore-excites, and fore-warns us of it!  And it’s all leading to something, Friends.
God pouring out His spirit upon all people, and our sons and daughters prophesying is leading to something…
Old men dreaming dreams is leading to something…
The blood and fire and columns of smoke will be leading to something…
Did we know this?  ...That all of it has always been leading to something...
Since the day that each of us were born: each day, each year, and each decade of our lives has been leading to something
Something great!  And something terrible...depending on what you believe.
What do we believe?
    …That we have lived a “good enough” life?  (And—as compared to whom?)
    …That we are a stitch holier than the next person, and so we are “safe” for eternity?
Believe this: Heaven or Hell.
We must choose Christ now, because it is (only) one or the other.
It will be great or it will be terrible.
Our entire lives have been leading to something: and the Bible says that it is that great and terrible day of the Lord arrives (Joel 2:31).
Call on His Name today!
But...have we sinned?  Have we done too much for God to forgive or unsee?
...He can wash others clean, but He doesn’t know our rap sheet.
Yes, Beloved.  He does.
Don’t be surprised at what the Bible tells you and me:
But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved...   ~Joel 2:32
Everyone.  Even with all we've done and all that we deserve...everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved (Joel 2:32).
But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved, for some on Mount Zion in Jerusalem will escape, just as the Lord has said.  These will be among the survivors whom the Lord has called.  ~Joel 2:32
He has called us, Brothers and Sisters.  Are we listening?
Are we seeing His spirit poured out upon all people?
Are we seeing our sons and daughters prophesy?
Are our old men dreaming dreams?
Are our young men seeing visions?
Have we seen wonders in the heavens and on the earth—blood and fire and columns of smoke?
Has the sun become dark, or has the moon turned blood red?
It will.  All of these things will happen before that great and terrible day of the Lord arrives.
The Bible says not to be surprised when these things happen and also--(breathe out!) don't forget to rely and trust what the Bible says about us when they do happen
But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved, for some on Mount Zion in Jerusalem will escape, just as the Lord has said.  These will be among the survivors whom the Lord has called.  ~Joel 2:32
