Lord, you have cleared us out, and cut the weeds away.
Pride gets overgrown, and apathy must be ousted.
We want to whine "Why me?", and we quibble that "It's all too much", but You (Sovereign Lord of Heaven and Earth), call us on it.
You see our sins of selfishness and pride, and through Your Word (the Bible) and Your Spirit, You cut the poison out of us.
Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.(8) Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice.(9) Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity.(10) Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.(11) Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.(12) Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.~Psalm 51:7-12

We are Yours today, Lord. We are sorry for our shortcomings...and we BELIEVE that You have forgiven them and You have cleansed us with hyssop: a fresh start in Your forgiveness. Thank You, Father. We have new life in You and BECAUSE OF YOU today. Amen.

We were there (on our own)...☹️
But now, You...and we are here. ☺️
We come before You humble and honest...calmed and quieted.
Lord, my heart is not proud; my eyes are not haughty.I don’t concern myself with matters too great or too awesome for me to grasp.(2) Instead, I have calmed and quieted myself, like a weaned child who no longer cries for its mother’s milk. Yes, like a weaned child is my soul within me.(3) O Israel, put your hope in the Lord—now and always. ~Psalm.131:1-3
Now we are together in union with You once again. United.
I have calmed and quieted myself, like a weaned child who no longer cries for its mother’s milk. Yes, like a weaned child is my soul within me. ~Psalm 131:2
Our hearts are not proud today because they cannot be. We sinned. We failed. We complained. We got self-entitled. We fall down on this faith journey sometimes,
But God got involved, and spoke to our pride...and closed our haughty eyes. And He calmed and quieted us.
(O Israel, put your hope in the Lord—now and always. ~Psalm.131:3).
In spite of ourselves...God rules and reigns today. In spite of us, God governs us with love and authority. We can trust Him, and we can put our hope in Him today.
O Israel, put your hope in the Lord—now and always. ~Psalm.131:3
Blessings,
sarah
