Because your love is better than life,  my lips will glorify you.   I will praise you as long as I live,  and in your name I will lift up my hands.  ~Psalm 63:3-4 Gratitude.  Gratitude.  Gratitude.  Grateful. Have we said, “Thank You” to the Lord lately? Have we realized recently all that we are provided and blessed with by our Heavenly Father? In our hectic-pace and in the world’s attitude of entitlement…we often  expect and even demand what comes our way.   But none of it is a given, and all of it is given by our Lord. Have we said, “Thank You” to the Lord lately? Gratitude.   Gratitude.   Gratitude.   Let’s put it in our attitude today. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.  ~James 1:17 Lord , you are my God;  I will exalt you and praise your name,  for in perfect faithfulness  you ha...

The other day at work, I answered an incoming call and on the other line was a kind-voiced gentleman calling in to purchase a one-year renewal of our product for his neighbor.  I could hear her elderly frail voice in the background, and my heart softened at the kind gesture of this man helping his elderly neighbor.  He  never faltered in his patience or kind demeanor with her. When I pulled up her account, I saw that this  gentle man and gentleman  had called every year for ten years  to assist his neighbor in purchasing, just to be nice.  Just to be kind.  Just to do the right thing.   Do to others as you would have them do to you.  ~Luke 6:31   I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, ( 2)  with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, ( 3)  endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit...

The fellowship of Christ  (with Him and with others) is worth more than anything that the world offers (or deceives us with).  The apostle John (in the Bible) saw Jesus Christ in the flesh.  Really and truly...John experienced Jesus and... it changed him.   Jesus changed him.   John saw living proof of Jesus, and because of the way that Jesus affected John (and was revealed to him)...John just  had to share Jesus with others.  John had to proclaim and  reveal Jesus to others.   We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning, whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life.   ( 2)  This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us.   ( 3)  We proclaim to you what we ourse...

Where were we at 6:20 A.M. yesterday morning?  Our daughter and a few of her friends-in-Christ and seekers-of-Christ, were chattering in our car, sharing stories, and  having fellowship with each other on the way to school . What a blessing it is when we have fellowship with each other (at any and all hours!). The next stop was our public high school for the weekly Christian student group, and although I don't attend the meetings, I know (from our kids) that students from all walks of life gather to hear God's Word taught by God's (high school) sons and daughters.  Freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors are all gathered in those meetings, and sometimes home schoolers from the area stop in too.  The group welcomes and accepts each other, even though many of them wouldn't "hang out" together otherwise.  However, here , they have fellowship with each other . ...if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other......

Okay, stop me if you've heard this one: a guy walks into a bar... The guy's got huge iron teeth and he has ten horns on his head, but then three of the horns are removed and a tiny, boastful horn replaces those three.  This little horn had eyes like human eyes and a mouth that was boasting arrogantly (Daniel 7:8).  Can we picture it? Have we heard this joke? Okay, so actually it's not a joke.  It is,  however, more of a riddle, and technically--it was a dream that God gave Daniel  in the Bible to foretell of days to come. Daniel was a dreamer .  But, not as in lolly-gagging, or letting his mind wander.  The Lord allowed Daniel  to dream dreams that foretold of things to come, and the Lord also gave Daniel the gifting to decipher dreams that others had.   God gave Daniel  this dream for us , and for our awareness and our understanding of what's to come.    And so, stop me if you've heard this one, but  Daniel had a dream...

A friend of ours shared the other day about her last work environment, and that the team of people that she worked with were all eligible and encouraged to apply for management and leadership positions...but none of them would.  They were proud and content to stay at entry-level positions, so as not to incur any additional responsibility or work.   The Bible reminds us to make-no-mistake: That kind of thinking and living is not the life that God has planned for His children to be living.  Go to the ant, you sluggard;  consider its ways and be wise! ( 7)  It has no commander,  no overseer or ruler, ( 8)  yet it stores its provisions in summer  and gathers its food at harvest.  ( 9)  How long will you lie there, you sluggard?   When will you get up from your sleep?  ( 10)  A little sleep, a little slumber,  a little folding of the hands to rest—( 11)  and poverty will come on you like a thief  a...
