We must pray.   Today.   ~~~ I can recall my Papa sitting in his La-Z-Boy recliner and watching the nightly news.  He would mutter, "Terrible, terrible, terrible" under his breath...and that was almost twenty years ago.  What would he think of our headlines today? People  kill and steal and commit adultery.  There is violence everywhere—one murder after another (Hosea 4:2). Is there anything  we can do?   To quote Franklin Graham this week, (the son of the world-evangelists Billy and Ruth Graham) "you bet there is":  Pray. We can pray today, Friends,...and we must. Our Nation and most nations across the world have strayed from God and His Word and His ways.  We (as a people) are living in active-sin.   There is no faithfulness, no kindness, no knowledge of God in our land s, and just as erosion occurs on objects at the beach that are constantly pounded by the waves...erosion has occurred in nations acr...

I do care ...I think that's why this has been hanging-on-my-heart and bothering-my-conscience for the past few days--ever since I heard about the funeral.  I didn't know the lady that passed-away very well, but she was the best friend of one of my best friends, and my friend needed a ride there. I  do  care ...but my personal-time and vacation-days deck was stacked against me: I've been out the last 2 ½ days of work   for (family fun) reasons , and today was supposed to be my first day back.  I knew, and my boss knew  that I needed  to be at work today.  But, today was also the funeral that my friend needed a ride to.    I  do  care , but... She and I had both explored other transportation options...but nothing panned out.  Was I supposed to pan out?  I prayed and asked God again. For five days the Lord has kept this ride-favor on my mind, but day after day, I delayed in dealing with it.  I wanted  to ...

What if the   Lord   is  not on our side  today?   What if...  What if...  What if... How often (a day!) and in our lives, do we worry about the "what if"?  What if the   Lord   had not been on our side?  Let all Israel repeat: ( 2)  What if the  Lord  had not been on our side  when people attacked us? ( 3)  They would have swallowed us alive  in their burning anger. ( 4)  The waters would have engulfed us;  a torrent would have overwhelmed us.  (5)  Yes, the raging waters of their fury  would have overwhelmed our very lives.   ~Psalm 124:1-5 But (repeat after me...),  Let all Israel repeat:   the   Lord   WAS   on our side  yesterday. Let all Israel (us!)  repeat:  the   Lord   IS   on our side  today.   Remember what He's done for us and we can (then) also  trust  that He is on our side again ...

We sprinkled some seeds for Christ a couple weeks ago (invited a group of about forty people to church), but alas,   none of the seeds took root.  One person thanked us our invite, but no one else acknowledged   even seeing the invitation, let alone considering it. If I am honest, that was a little disheartening. Do we sometimes feel fruitless when trying to share Christ with others? Let us not become weary in doing good,  for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.  ~Galatians 6:9 Has the Lord put someone on our hearts to share God's love and truth with?  Is there a person, a group, a team, a coworker, a family member, or a friend that we could have an influence for Christ with?   Persevere today!  God is working behind the scenes in ways that we may never know, but He utilizes His people as seed-planters in His Kingdom.    I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.
