33 They marched for three days after leaving the mountain of the Lord, with the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant moving ahead of them to show them where to stop and rest. 34 As they moved on each day, the cloud of the Lord hovered over them. 35 And whenever the Ark set out, Moses would shout, “Arise, O Lord, and let your enemies be scattered! Let them flee before you!” 36 And when the Ark was set down, he would say, “Return, O Lord, to the countless thousands of Israel!”  ~Numbers 10:33-36

Let's talk to God as Moses did!

I love how Moses started his days.  As he traveled with the Israelites through the wilderness on their way to the Promised Land, Moses knew the Lord had ordained their journey and so he kicked off their days with energy and trust in the Lord (Arise, O Lord...!).  Let's be like Moses today!

When we are not-quite-sure or merely "hopeful" about something--we speak softly about it.  But when we have a sure-bet we speak with authority.  Moses started their daily treks by shouting to the Lord.  He knew the Lord, and he knew the Lord was marching with them.  We too, can know that God is marching among us today too!

Arise,Lord, and let your enemies be scattered! Let them flee before you!”  ~Numbers 10:35

When kicking off their day, Moses invoked the Lord to "Arise" and join them.  Before our feet hit the floor in the morning, let's invoke God to be with us.  He is only an ask away, and given the opportunity, God will always Arise and accompany us through the days' adventures and challenges.

“Arise, Lord, and let your enemies be scattered! Let them flee before you!”  ~Numbers 10:35

Ain't no shame in asking God to clear our path today.  Let's pray like Moses did. “Arise, O Lord, and let your enemies be scattered! Let them flee before you!”

Lord, we pray that Your enemies of fear, doubt, unbelief, apathy and ignorance would be scattered.  Scatter the seeds of thought that our enemies cast into our minds.  Lord, don't let them take root or be watered in anyway.  Lord, we pray that our enemies are scattered today.  Whether we face enemies in circumstance/belief/envy/judgement/health/sadness--we pray in Your Name that they would flee before you!

Lord, for ourselves, for our children, for our cities and our Nation we pray, "let your enemies be scattered! Let them flee before you!" Amen.

I want to rise in the morning with the energy and trust in the Lord that Moses had, and when the sun sets I want to emulate his prayer to God as well: “Return, O Lord, to the countless thousands of Israel!” (Numbers 10:36).

After the busy-of-the-day, the crazy-of-the-day, the joys-of-the-day, the drains-of-the-day, and for those who experienced the tragedy/trauma/shock/grief of today: “Return, O Lord, to the countless thousands of Israel!” (Numbers 10:36).

Lord, there are countless thousands who are Yours.  The Israelites branched into all-believers-of-Your-Son, and we number the countless thousands.  We request, pray-for, and covet Your return to us each evening.  Protect us as we rest, rejuvenate and incubate our selves/marriages/families within our homes each night.  Return, O Lord and be with us.  As we sleep, protect us and restore us.  Forgive us.  Ready our minds/bodies/spirits to shout for you the next morning.

Just as Moses knew the Lord had ordained his journey, we rise with energy and trust in the Lord as we embrace ours today.  We prepare to shout(!)“Arise, O Lord, and let your enemies be scattered! Let them flee before you!” (Numbers 10:35)

And we ask the Lord's covering and blessing on our souls and bodies as the day comes to a close.  Even if we errantly wander in our day, at night we are stilled and we ask in repentance and trust: “Return, O Lord, to the countless thousands of Israel!” (Numbers 10:36).

Let's talk to God as Moses did today!

Blessings,

sarah
