Have you ever looked at a "Seek & Find" book?  Usually for children, the pages are filled with random items, and the longer you look, the more you see.  They even give you a checklist of items to hunt for.

Or maybe you have enjoyed doing a "word search" now and then.  The answers are all there, but it can take me a lot of searching to find all of them.  Like the "Seek & Find" books:  Some words/items "pop out at you", and others seem to be hidden.

The Biblical scriptures pertaining to the Last Supper, Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus' (unfair) "hearings" and "trials", and His eventual crucifixion are some of the most well-known stories in the Bible.  But like a Seek & Find or word search, new details are always there for the finding, and the longer you look, the more you see.

After all of Jesus' disciples had (50) deserted him and ran away... (53) They took Jesus to the high priest’s home where the leading priests, the elders, and the teachers of religious law had gathered...(55) Inside, the leading priests and the entire high council were trying to find evidence against Jesus, so they could put him to death. But they couldn’t find any. (56) Many false witnesses spoke against him, but they contradicted each other. (57) Finally, some men stood up and gave this false testimony: (58) “We heard him say, ‘I will destroy this Temple made with human hands, and in three days I will build another, made without human hands.’” (59) But even then they didn’t get their stories straight!

(60) Then the high priest stood up before the others and asked Jesus, “Well, aren’t you going to answer these charges? What do you have to say for yourself?” (61) But Jesus was silent and made no reply. Then the high priest asked him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?”

(62) Jesus said, “I am. And you will see the Son of Man seated in the place of power at God’s right hand and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

(63) The high priest tore his clothes. “Why do we need any more witnesses?” he asked. (64) “You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?”  They all condemned him as worthy of death.  ~Mark 14:50, 53, 55-62

Jesus was quiet for a long while (a great lesson for us when people throw accusations and false claims at us), but when the high priest asked him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?” (Mark 14:61), Jesus could not be silent.

You cannot silence the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed Onenot through lies, false accusations, false teachings, threats, beatings--not even by crucifixion was He silenced.

I was not "seeking" it, but the new idea I "found" in these verses was how Jesus answered the high priest.  Did you catch it?  Jesus said, “I am. And you will see the Son of Man seated in the place of power at God’s right hand and coming on the clouds of heaven.” (Mark 14:62).

Even as Jesus was about to face death, He was speaking of His resurrection.  Jesus knew that his torture and death would be temporary and His power and spiritual authority would be eternal.  The authorities were leading Him through (earthly) hell, but Jesus' eyes were on Heaven.  (Isn't this awesome!?)

And it is not the first time that Jesus paints this holy and powerful picture of Himself seated in the place of power at God’s right hand and coming on the clouds of heaven (Mark 14:62), and nor will it be the last time the Bible has readers "find" it.

Just in case you ever wondered (or doubted) if the Bible proves itself/supports it's claims repeatedly/tells the same truths over and over: the answer is Yes.

Just a Chapter before this in the book of Mark, Jesus told his disciples, "And then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory." (Mark 13:26).

And Jesus gave the same double reference of this phrase in Matthew 24:30 and 26:64.

But where else can we seek and find confirmation of the Father /Son divine plan, Their dominion and this image in the Bible?

“I saw in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him. And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed. ~Daniel 7:13-14

Daniel prophesied (told of) Jesus being "with the clouds of heaven" almost 600 years before Jesus was even born.

Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.  ~Hebrews 8:1

Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen.  ~Revelation 1:7

Different books of the Bible, different authors, but each of them (and Jesus Himself!) proclaiming how we will see Jesus one day: And you will see the Son of Man seated in the place of power at God’s right hand and coming on the clouds of heaven.” (Mark 14:62).

I often seek to refresh on what Jesus did for us.  But in today's scripture we find what Jesus will do, and I am not sure if words can ever do justice to capturing the majesty, power and authority of Jesus Christ, but these references come close.

It's powerful.  It's fantastical.  And it is repeated truth in the Bible.

If we are seekers of God's Word, he will never disappoint us with what we find in His Word.  And new details are always there for the finding, and the longer you look, the more you see.

I cannot wait to see the Son of Man seated in the place of power at God’s right hand and coming on the clouds of heaven.” (Mark 14:62)
