In one of the villages, Jesus met a man with an advanced case of leprosy. When the man saw Jesus, he bowed with his face to the ground, begging to be healed. “Lord,” he said, “if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean.” (13)Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” And instantly the leprosy disappeared. ~Luke 5:12-13

He is willing.

Have you ever wondered if God is willing to forgive you of all that you've done?

Or if He is willing to forgive you for what you've just done?

Some of us can look over our entire lives: at all of the sin and shortcoming that we have produced. So many things went on for way too long. Sins that are still going on. The shame of it should cause conviction within our spirit, and make us wonder, "Is God willing to heal me and make me clean?"

Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. (Luke 5:13).

Some of us received that "initial healing" into our hearts/over our sin a while ago. By the grace of God, someone took the time to introduce/share/explain the love of Jesus to us and we were saved. Saved from the fear of death/saved from trying to earn what is unearnable /saved from the running, the dodging, the avoidance of meeting Jesus one-on-one until finally we realized that Jesus brings freedom from our sin and not condemnation of it. He is willing.

These are a couple faith-scenarios but some of us are in another: In one of the villages, Jesus met a man with an advanced case of leprosy. (Luke 5:12).

Our sin, our choices, our pain, our shame and our regrets cover us like leprosy. And so we live on the outskirts. We feel separated from Believers because we are not like them. In our minds, we see our sin as an isolation from them, from good, and from God. We are living with an advanced case of leprosy.

We feel unworthy and beyond that, our guilt and self-labeled-inadequacy renders us almost useless. We've just about accepted that this "leprosy" of sin and unforgiveness is our station in life.

But that is a lie.

He is willing.

When the man saw Jesus, he bowed with his face to the ground, begging to be healed. “Lord,” he said, “if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean.”

(13)Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” And instantly the leprosy disappeared. ~Luke 5:12-13

It is as easy as that.

The isolation that is separating us from the life we were meant to live in Christ is as close as a prayer.

The straps that are binding us in whatever sin or "past" we are lugging around can be slashed free by uttering an honest prayer to The One who releases us from our burdens.

"Lord, if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean.” Luke 5:12

Yes, He can heal us and make us clean. And Yes, He will.

He is willing.

But don't take my word for it. Let Jesus touch You today, and listen to His heart in doing so:

Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” And instantly the leprosy disappeared. (Luke 5:13).

He is willing, Friend. And we are friends. We're just alike, You and Me. And all of God's people. There is no "clean" and "unclean", or "sinful" and "sinless". There are just those that have asked to be healed and made clean, and have believed when Jesus reached out and touched (them) and said “I am willing...Be healed!”

For those that have not been touched yet--feel Jesus reaching for you today: “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” (Luke 5:13).

To those who have not-yet-asked Jesus to heal their "leprosy" of sin yet--feel the healing touch of Jesus today: “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” (Luke 5:13).

For those of us that have still not accepted the willingness of Jesus to do so: Believe Him today: “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” (Luke 5:13).

He is willing, even though our sin covers us and makes us hideous.

He is willing, if we will come humbly to Him. When the man saw Jesus, he bowed with his face to the ground, begging to be healed. “Lord,” he said, “if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean.” (Luke 5:12).

Don't miss the response of Jesus. He speaks it into our minds and hearts today. He is reaching out and touching us today and right now.

Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” And instantly the leprosy disappeared. ~Luke 5:13

It's not just a story in the Bible.

It's not just a story for someone else.

Today, let this be our story and our healing. Jesus is willing. Let Him.
