Captivity can creep in. One minute we are functional, "on-track", moving-right-along, stable. We know the Lord, we trust His truths, we have the perspective of His Word, and we are living in the freedom of His peace.

And then I am not even sure how it happens...it can be sudden or it can be a slow leak, but the freedom fades. Thoughts imprison us. Stress enslaves us. Sin separates us. Worry barricades us. People penetrate our spiritual peace. And while we have (previously) known God's freedom, we become locked-up in (mental, spiritual, physical) confinement.

Let God's Word cut our chains today. Let Him loose the labyrinths in which we are locked. When our circumstances, thoughts, and emotions imprison us, remember (and be released!) by what God has done for us.

He has paid a full ransom for his people.  He has guaranteed his covenant with them forever. What a holy, awe-inspiring name he has!  ~Psalm 111:9

The Lord Almighty has paid a full ransom for us. That first and foremost covers our salvation. In admitting our sin and claiming Him as our Savior, we are redeemed. But for the days and years and s-l-o-w-l-y ticking times when we become burdened by the weights of this world and choked by it's weeds, we can be unfettered by the truth, hope and depth of the full ransom that He has paid for us. Not just the ransom that God initially put up, but the continual ransom that faith in Him promises.

He saved us from Hell when we first accepted Him into our hearts, but He continues to save us from the "hell's" of this world if we will stay with Him, stay close to Him, and stay in Him. He has promised us this. He has guaranteed his covenant with them forever. (Psalm 111:9).

Be relieved today by God's beautiful promise (covenant) of safety and freedom in Him. See past the words/worry/person/debt/health/expectations/heaviness that are threatening to imprison us. Be ransomed. He has paid a full ransom for his people.  He has guaranteed his covenant with them forever. What a holy, awe-inspiring name he has!  ~Psalm 111:9

Psalm 111

(1) Praise the Lord!  I will thank the Lord with all my heart as I meet with his godly people.

(2) How amazing are the deeds of the Lord!  All who delight in him should ponder them.

(3) Everything he does reveals his glory and majesty.  His righteousness never fails.

(4) He causes us to remember his wonderful works.   How gracious and merciful is our Lord!

(5) He gives food to those who fear him; he always remembers his covenant.

(7) All he does is just and good, and all his commandments are trustworthy.

(8) They are forever true, to be obeyed faithfully and with integrity.

(9) He has paid a full ransom for his people.  He has guaranteed his covenant with them forever. What a holy, awe-inspiring name he has!

(10) Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom.  All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom.  ~Psalm 111:1-5, 7-10

If captivity in any sense of the definition has crept into our mind, body or spirit today...remember and
be freed in the truth that our ransom has been paid in full.

Praise the Lord!  I will thank the Lord with all my heart (Psalm 111:1). Amen.

Blessings,
