The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayers of the righteous.   ~Proverbs 15:29

The evil one will whisper (over and over) in our ear that we are wicked, but God whispers something else.  That we are righteous once we put our faith in him.  That He has washed us clean, and if we love Him and seek to live for Him, that we are righteous.

Hard for many of us to accept, but just because it is difficult for us to fathom God's love and forgiveness does not make His love, forgiveness and righteousness any less true of us.
  • “If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.” ~1 John 2:29
  • “And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.” ~Romans 6:18
  • “Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” ~Matthew 13:43
And so, if we are righteous, God hears our prayers (The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayers of the righteous.  ~Proverbs 15:29).  Lift up your prayers to Him today.  The tiny and seemingly-meaningless requests and the heavy, suffocating burdens that threaten to overtake our mind, hearts, sleep and lives.

Lift up those on your heart to Him today. 

Lift up those who cannot lift themselves up in prayer today.   
 
Lift up yourself , your woes, heartaches, needs, desires, hurts and all your heavies to Him today.  

He hears us...

he hears the prayers of the righteous... (Proverbs 15:29)

And through prayer comes the lifting-of-sorrow, the healing-of-hearts and bodies, the salvation of souls, the mending of stiff necks, the softening of stances, the release from captivity (in mind and body), the loophole "found", the needle-in-the-haystack pinpointed, the discerning decision, the Godly spouse, the "calling" instead of career, the purpose as to why we are here today.  

He hears the prayers of the righteous... (Proverbs 15:29).

And when our prayers take time to be answered, or when the "answer" is not the one we righteously prayed for, then perhaps God has heard us, but our answers (for now) are intangible.  He hears the prayers of the righteous... (Proverbs 15:29), and may our prayers bring (within us) the results of peace, quietness and assurance, regardless of the outward results of our prayers.

“The work of righteousness will be peace, and the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.” Isaiah 32:17

Perhaps the process of prayer (the prayers of the righteous) is not completely entrenched in the results of our prayers lifted on high, but is also (very much) about the peace, quietness and assurance that befalls the righteous one lifting up the prayer.

Today may we lift our requests and our hearts to the Lord.  He surely hears our prayers, and through the process of prayer...He shapes our hearts for Him, making us more like Him, making us righteous.

Big or small, life-threatening or merely mood-altering: lift it up to the Lord today.

He hears our prayers, and He sees us as righteous.

Lift up those on your heart to Him today. 

Lift up those who cannot lift themselves up in prayer today.

At work, we provide Trainings for customers, so that they can be updated and educated on all of the latest features (and how to use them) within our product.  Many companies do this--sharing "Best Practices" are a way to ensure positive outcomes on the customer and vendor sides of things. My kids often offer me "life hacks" that they have learned from watching an online video promising to "save time" and "make your life easier".  And just this week, my husband enlightened me about the "tear-away" feature built into most plastic rings holding cans/bottles of pop or Gatorade together.  When separated, the plastic rips open easily, releasing the bottle--saving wildlife that might be caught if it is discarded as trash, and saving me  frustration or angst because I no longer have to pull with all my might to get a bottle out of the plastic rings.  ( Who knew? )  Life hacks do save time and make your life easier! The unanswered “why’s” of life, the disorder of our days, and even the unfairness of our struggles can cause us to question ourselves and also to question our God. But the order-of-Creation and the systems that God has set in place are undeniable answers that swing back and forth like God’s pendulum-reminder that He set the world in motion, and He continues to keep order, even when it seems as if we and our world are in dis- order.   Job was a man going through some heavy and hard stuff.   Maybe we are too.   Job’s trials had caused him to question the order of life, and possibly God’s dominion over it.   We can relate.   The “Why’s?” and the “Why Me’s” can stack up in our minds and hearts, but like a parent exercising loving-authority over a child, God reminds Job and us--of His power, omniscience and of His ultimate authority over everything: Creation… and us today .   Then the  Lord  answered Job from the whirlwind: (2) “Who i...

Running low on " good things " today?  Doesn't it (sometimes) seem like/trend like/read like/tweet like/water-cooler-chat or backyard-fence-visit like/intimidate like/depress like... there are no  good things in the land? . I know. It's no secret that many have abandoned  the Law of the  Lord,  and at times, that's us .   It is evident all around us that people have  followed each other  in this sin.  When we look around...or when we live our days...we can wonder: Are there  any  good things  left in the land? There are still some good things in the land ...and no matter how bleak we feel the "forecast" for today is...there will always  be  some good things in the land, because God is in the land.   T he Bible reminds us of that today.   ~~~ The Israelites (and their king, Rehoboam ) were God's people, but like all of us at times/seasons of our lives...they wandered from Lord and His ways....
