Anyone
who loves to quarrel loves to sin... ~Proverbs 17:19
We all have our own opinion, our own preferences, and something to say. But will we? Must we? Speaking our minds is such a temptation, but the acceptance-of (and silence- toward) others and situations is a gift that we can give to others and ourselves.
Anyone who loves to quarrel loves to sin... ~Proverbs 17:19
Today let’s stay out of sin by staying out of quarrels.
Certainly
God does not condone our acceptance of sin, but so much of what we criticize, disdain,
gossip and quarrel about is not sin. It
is simply life-done-differently than we would do it.
At the root of most quarrels is pride. Others are not doing what we think they should, and in telling them (or others) about it...we engage/invoke/invite a quarrel.
Anyone who loves to quarrel loves to sin... ~Proverbs 17:19
Stop quarreling.
Stop loving to quarrel.
Stop loving to criticize, condemn, attack, critique, judge and pick, pick, pick...
If this sounds too harsh, don't worry, because God is talking to me, and not you.
Unless you feel that He is also speaking to you by saying "Anyone who loves to quarrel loves to sin" (Proverbs 17:19), in which case: stop quarreling.
In realization, humility, and even shame--may our pride be arrested today and may the spirit of Christ inside of us be set free. Jesus did not quarrel. He intentionally built others up, rather than tearing them down. And it had a life-changing effect on people.
What effect do we have on others?
Anyone who loves to quarrel loves to sin... ~Proverbs 17:19
Stop quarreling today.
Blessings,
sarah
