This letter is from Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus, chosen by God to be an apostle and sent out to preach his Good News...(5) Through Christ, God has given us the privilege and authority as apostles to tell Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey him, bringing glory to his name. ~Romans 1:1, 5

Responsibilities...frivolities.
Nuisances...neuroses.
Daily life. All of the distractions that accompany our minutes, seconds...and every thought. Where to start? What to do first? What to do at all?
What is priority?
Father God, YOU and preaching Your Good News is priority.
Living your Good News. Speaking Your Good News. Shining Your Good News. Teaching Your Good News. Preaching Your Good News.
Lord, help us to push the incidentals away today. May we stop being-distracted and start GETTING-ACTIVE to tell people everywhere what You have done for them, so that they will believe and obey You.
If we cave to the minutia, crack under the monotony, or just plain get too-pooped-to-pop, then our inactivity signals victory--but not for Jesus.
Lord, Help us to prioritize You to be first in our thoughts, attention and life. It's so hard to stay focused when everything seems to pull us away from You/Your will/Your work/Your ways. But if we can recognize the enemy-of-distraction, we can overcome it...for your glory.
Father, don't let the daily "yucks" seep in and smother/derail/extinguish our pursuit for You today. May we experience You and be sent out to preach Your Good News to others.
We want You, Lord. We love You, Jesus. We want to serve You. We want to share Your Good News. We want to bring others to You. This is our life-assignment as Your sons and daughters: to share Your Good News with Your other sons and daughters. All else is distraction. Don't let us get tangled-up in today, Lord!

Who me?
Us?
Sent out to "preach"?
Nah, not qualified or holy. Too sinful and too spiteful. Lapses and mishaps and awkward laughs because I am sinful. Couldn't be chosen by God to be an apostle and sent out to preach his Good News...
Nah, not me. I wouldn't be included among those...
(6) And you are included among those Gentiles who have been called to belong to Jesus Christ. (7) I am writing to all of you...who are loved by God and are called to be his own holy people. May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. ~Romans 1:6-7
"And you are included..."
EVEN us, imperfect and all.
Sent out to preach his Good News...to tell people everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey him, bringing glory to his name.
If You say so, Lord. For You ARE Lord.
Then clear our minds, cleanse our hearts and chart our course today, Father. Help us to push the incidentals away and may we stop being-distracted and start GETTING-ACTIVE to tell people everywhere what You have done for them, so that they will believe and obey You.
Father God, YOU and preaching Your Good News is priority today.
Blessings,
sarah
