Hint: We can't (wholly) check any of those boxes on our own, but with Jesus in our life and the Holy Spirit in our hearts...we become extensions of our Lord.

Lord, You are merciful and compassionate, please help us to be merciful and compassionate with others and with ourselves today.

  

Lord, You are slow to get angry.  Slow our tempers and mute our frustrations today.  Please impart Your perspective-of-patience and language-of-love onto us and into us today.  


Lord, You are filled with unfailing love.  When we are running-dry and being-worn-thin today, refill us with your unfailing love, so that we might heap some of You and Your unfailing love onto others.


Lord, You are good to everyone.  Don't allow us the elitism or selfishness of "selecting" who to be good" to.  If the Lord is good to everyone, so then should we be.  The Lord sees no differences in whom He is good to.  Stop our segmenting and starting now: let's be good to everyone, no matter what.


Lord, You are filled with kindness...filled and overflowing. Just for today, just for right now...may we be kind to another. Kind to every other, and may we be filled with Your kindness.

Don't deliver the criticism/"I told you so"/or the discipline today...even if they "deserve" it. The Lord is merciful.  We can be too.


Deliver the banana bread to an office/car repair/health-care-provider/etc. that has done-a-great-job lately. The Lord is filled with kindness...we can be too.


Buy someone a frozen hot chocolate on a sweltering Summer day to remind them they are enough. The Lord showers compassion on all his creation, we can do it in a tasty way for someone today.


Take a minute to make Jello-jigglers for the elderly at a nursing home.  The Lord is merciful and compassionate and we are extensions of Him to others,  Show God's mercy and compassion to others in a fun way today.    


Spend the afternoon visiting with someone instead of accomplishing.  The Lord is filled with unfailing love, and love is rarely felt through "duty" or accomplishment, but love is always felt through investment of time and self.  The Lord is filled with unfailing love and we can be too.  Ditch the to-do list and love on someone today.


Give a compliment.  The Lord is good to everyone, and God made good in everyone.  See it today and brighten someone's day by letting them know you think they are special.  


Go out for ice cream after the game/meeting/group. The Lord is filled with kindness and win-or-lose, it's a blessing to belong. Celebrate God's gift of community today and show kindness by getting together.


Volunteer...donate...step up today.  The Lord is good to everyone and we can be too.

⌧ Filled with kindness.

At work, we provide Trainings for customers, so that they can be updated and educated on all of the latest features (and how to use them) within our product.  Many companies do this--sharing "Best Practices" are a way to ensure positive outcomes on the customer and vendor sides of things. My kids often offer me "life hacks" that they have learned from watching an online video promising to "save time" and "make your life easier".  And just this week, my husband enlightened me about the "tear-away" feature built into most plastic rings holding cans/bottles of pop or Gatorade together.  When separated, the plastic rips open easily, releasing the bottle--saving wildlife that might be caught if it is discarded as trash, and saving me  frustration or angst because I no longer have to pull with all my might to get a bottle out of the plastic rings.  ( Who knew? )  Life hacks do save time and make your life easier! The unanswered “why’s” of life, the disorder of our days, and even the unfairness of our struggles can cause us to question ourselves and also to question our God. But the order-of-Creation and the systems that God has set in place are undeniable answers that swing back and forth like God’s pendulum-reminder that He set the world in motion, and He continues to keep order, even when it seems as if we and our world are in dis- order.   Job was a man going through some heavy and hard stuff.   Maybe we are too.   Job’s trials had caused him to question the order of life, and possibly God’s dominion over it.   We can relate.   The “Why’s?” and the “Why Me’s” can stack up in our minds and hearts, but like a parent exercising loving-authority over a child, God reminds Job and us--of His power, omniscience and of His ultimate authority over everything: Creation… and us today .   Then the  Lord  answered Job from the whirlwind: (2) “Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ig

Running low on " good things " today?  Doesn't it (sometimes) seem like/trend like/read like/tweet like/water-cooler-chat or backyard-fence-visit like/intimidate like/depress like... there are no  good things in the land? . I know. It's no secret that many have abandoned  the Law of the  Lord,  and at times, that's us .   It is evident all around us that people have  followed each other  in this sin.  When we look around...or when we live our days...we can wonder: Are there  any  good things  left in the land?
