I was blessed to catch a sunrise the other day.  But it wasn't rising over the houses across the street (like most mornings), and it wasn't cresting up out of a field or the ocean.  I saw the sun birthing a new day from above the clouds.

While I enjoy every sunrise (or sunset) that I witness, this one was more...not just a sunrise, but an ethereal glowing.  It was not just "pretty" but striking, like a spark.  I was watching the atmosphere change from night-darkness to light-of-day, and our God does it with pizazz.

Have we stopped for a moment lately to remember and realize afresh the God we serve?  He created the universe, our world, and us.

And He did it with pizazz.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth... (3) And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. (4) God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. (5) God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.  ~Genesis 1:1, 3-4

Pause and watch the sunrise or sunset.  Actually, don't just "pause"...make a point to stop our pointless running around today and to instead take in the glory of our God.  The minutes of dawn and dusk are just two breathtaking ways out of a million that God dances before us each day.

That includes us.  The pizazz of God's handiwork is not limited to explosions of fall-leaf-bouquets and the Heavenly-hand-painted strokes of sunset.  We are proof of God's pizazz too, because we were made to resemble Him!

So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.  ~Genesis 1:27

There is no mistake in our DNA, whether we are dark-haired, red-headed or blond.  There is purpose in our gifts and talents, even when they are different frm everyone else around us.  The fluke in us, the humbling feature/characteristic/challenge that we have, the unique things that make us...us--that is our pizazz, if we will receive it as such.

We are not all carbon-copies because each of us was made by God on-purpose and for-a-purpose.  Embrace your pizazz today, and glorify God just how He made you!

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made...  ~Psalm 139:14

And sometimes the pizazz takes time...

The tight flower bud unfurling slowly in the warm sunlight isn't the only time-consuming-but-purposeful-process that God is working in today.

What is He slowly unfurling within us today?  What is taking time in our lives, but has His-purpose imprinted all throughout the process?

God is working good in us and our lives...but it takes time.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.  ~Romans 8:28

But often we miss it.  We muffle it.  We swipe right past it.

We want to hurry the process or catch the sunset "next time", and we trade productivity/prosperity/popularity for the pizazz that God has just waiting for us.

Let's be intentional today.  Drink in God's creation...it's dazzling!

But more than that, the "magic" of a sunrise, rainbow, or baby-in-the-womb stirs something spiritual within us.  We cannot deny the pizazz of these things, and our soul knows they were created by Someone.

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.  ~Romans 1:20

We have no excuse not to acknowledge, embrace and enjoy God's pizazz today--both within nature and within ourselves.

The electric-glow of first-light dawn is nothing compared to the electric-glow that He stirs in our hearts when we are doing/being/sharing/LIVING who He made us to be.

Embrace God's pizazz today!

For he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name.  ~Luke 1:49
