Now is the time to reproduce.  We need to be multiplying!

No, I don't mean that we should all be having babies (although you are welcome to!).  I mean, that as God's people we should always be sharing the light of Christ with others and encouraging growth in faith and maturity in our relationship (and theirs!) with God our Father.  Then we will be ready to step out in (our own) faith when the time comes (and it will).

Keep meeting together at church/small groups/Bible study/ministries.  We should keep teaching ourselves, our children, grandchildren and others about God's Word and the truth and relevancy of it.  We should always be reading the Bible and learning for ourselves, too!  That is God's plan for healthy reproduction within His Church family.

  • Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. (25) And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.  ~Hebrews 10:24-25
  • “These are the commands, decrees, and regulations that the Lord your God commanded me to teach you. You must obey them in the land you are about to enter and occupy, (2) and you and your children and grandchildren must fear the Lord your God as long as you live. If you obey all his decrees and commands, you will enjoy a long life.  ~Deuteronomy 6:1-2
  • Similarly, teach the older women to live in a way that honors God. They must not slander others or be heavy drinkers. Instead, they should teach others what is good. (4) These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, (5) to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God.   ~Titus 2:3-5

But are we aware of the desired result of learning about God's grace and becoming mature in sharing and teaching it?

Reproduction.

Multiplication.

Yes, we are to join together in seeking God and growing strong in Him, and then we are to expand, multiply and start all over again with new Believers.

Raising up people in the faith and then sending them out to do more of the same has always been God's plan for multiplication.  Jesus did not teach the entire world about His Father and Himself, he taught twelve people.

Jesus built into (only) twelve men (His disciples) and then He sent them out.  His goal is the same for us in our faith.

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.  ~Matthew 28:19

(a.) Accept Jesus into your heart.  Love Him!  Learn as much as You can about Him (read the Bible).  And then move along.  Wait for the Lord to place someone in your path (and He will), and share the love of Christ with them.

(b.) When they understand it enough, invite them into a relationship with the Lord, and refer them back to Step "a".

We need each other in the family of Christ, there is no doubt about that.  But we also need to send when the time comes for sending.  We need to split-up Bible study groups/churches/ministries for the healthy expansion of new groups when God gives the green light to do so.

Leaders of groups, ministries, even churches can expect the time to come when they will be called by God to the next "assignment".  And if they have done-their-job well, there will be (nervous), but well-prepared disciples-of-Christ ready to step in and step up.

This is the desired result of learning about God's grace and becoming mature in sharing and teaching it: Reproduction and Multiplication.

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.  ~Matthew 28:19

Make disciples as a means of introducing God into people's lives, but receive this verse freshly today: Make disciples as a means of reproduction and multiplication within God's church.

May "disciples" be birthed today so that they can be raised up in God's Word and Ways...so that they can be the spiritual leaders of tomorrow.

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.  ~I Thessalonians 5:11

~~~
We caught up this past Summer with out-of-town friends that we hadn't seen in a couple years.  As we approached their house, my friend saw our daughter and exclaimed, "Well hello, 'Little Sarah'!"
And she was right--our daughter looks (and acts) a lot like me.
But I pray that the strongest resemblances that we pass on will not be physical characteristics, but spiritual ones.  Strong faith.  Positive hope.  The Light of Christ.
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.  ~Matthew 5:16
Now is the time to reproduce.  We need to be multiplying!
