“But as for us, the Lord is our God, and we have not abandoned him... (11) ...We are following the instructions of the Lord our God, but you have abandoned him. (12) So you see, God is with us. He is our leader. His priests blow their trumpets and lead us into battle against you. O people of Israel, do not fight against the Lord, the God of your ancestors, for you will not succeed!”

...(14) When Judah realized that they were being attacked...they cried out to the Lord for help. Then the priests blew the trumpets, (15) and the men of Judah began to shout. At the sound of their battle cry, God defeated Jeroboam and all Israel and routed them before Abijah and the army of Judah.

(16) The Israelite army fled from Judah, and God handed them over to Judah in defeat... (18) So Judah defeated Israel on that occasion because they trusted in the Lord, the God of their ancestors.  ~2 Chronicles 13:10-12, 14-16, 18

Lord, today we declare that You are our God, and we have not abandoned You.  Father, we stand with You today, and we are led by You.

We trust in You, the God of our ancestors.  It is no mistake, coincidence, farce or fairy tale that we believe in You, Your hope and Your salvation for us, just as our ancestors and generation upon generation have also believed and known You, since the beginning of time when You created us.

We are doing our best to follow the instructions of the Lord our God...and help us to be true to You and Your instructions today, Lord.  Have patience with us, as we seek to have faith in You.  Others may abandon You, but we have not abandoned You.

You are with us today.  You are our leader.  We will not succeed if we are not fighting for You/and with You, or if You are not fighting with us.

If we realize that we are being attacked, we will cry out to the Lord for help, and we trust You, Lord.  You go before us today and You fight our battles for us, Lord.  You defeat our enemies, both physical and mental.  You rout them before us today, Lord, and You hand them over to us, because we trust in the Lord, the God of our ancestors.

It's going to be a good day, Lord.  It's going to be a victorious day, Father.  Because the Lord is our God, and we have not abandoned him and because today, on this occasion, we will trust in the Lord, the God of our ancestors.

Father, we stand with You today, and we are led by You.

Amen.

Blessings,

sarah
