Sometimes, in some situations, for certain occasions we know what to pray for.  Or, at least we think we do, and there is great strength and hope in that.  God hears every word we utter, and there can also be healing in our specific prayers.

The newborn is fading...we pray for life!

The mass is found...we pray for complete removal and remission.

The person is wandering from God...we pray for them to come home to the Father's love and His plan/purposes for them.

We've seen specific prayers, we've prayed specific prayers, we've lived specific prayers.  And there are times when the results do come.

I've seen the "loophole" medical treatment that was effective.

You've seen the addicted person get sober and change their ways.

We've seen people, occurrences, things that we could not explain, but that explained our specific prayers.

... And yet we've all experienced (and prayed!) the specific prayers, when we believed that we knew what God wants us to pray for...and yet the results did not come.

I don't need to share examples, they are probably still etched on our hearts.

~~~
But what about the times when we don’t know what God wants us to pray for?  When we are lost?  Confounded?  Weak?
It is at those times (are you there today?), when we don't know what to pray for, that the Holy Spirit takes the words right out of our mouth.
Did we know that?  That the Holy Spirit intervenes into our prayers when we are at a loss in presenting them to the Lord?
It's a relief!  It's amazing.  It's a miracle from our miraculous God.
Yes!  The Holy Spirit helps us!  He takes the words right out of our mouth when we cannot form them into our own prayer, and God the Father takes it from there.
Did we know that it's okay if we don’t know what God wants us to pray for?
It's okay not to have a specific prayer.  The Holy Spirit has one for us, and He is (right here) to help us.
And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.
(27) And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.
(28) And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.   ~Romans 8:26-28
Long story short...God's going to work it out, whether we pray specific prayers or even if we cannot muster a word.
We have help.  Divine help.  The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness (Romans 8:26)
Release it all to Him today.  We don't need exact words, we don't need the "special connection" that we think "others" have with God.  We don't even need words, because the Father...knows all hearts.  He knows our hearts.
And God has given us the Holy Spirit, Who pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.
Can we imagine?
Are we getting this concept (and Truth!)?
God will receive our prayers willingly, but when we do not have the words, His Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.
He takes the words right out of our mouth...it must have been while we were trusting Him.
He takes the words right out of our mouth and causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God.
We can pray for that specifically today...with or without words.
Blessings,
sarah
