Rise up, O Lord, in all your power.  With music and singing we celebrate your mighty acts.  ~Psalm 21:13

David (in the Bible) was just a man. But he was a man who loved God, who feared God, who inquired of God, who served God, and who recognized the blessings of God in his life.

And David praised the Lord for all of it.

We may not view ourselves as  "kings and queens", but look around our homes, our wardrobes, our vehicles and toys.  Recognize the bounty of our groceries, paychecks, the love within our hearts...and our salvation bought by Christ.  What more could we (really) want?

If we love God,  if we fear God, if we inquire of God, if we serve God, then may we recognize the blessings of God in our life and may we praise the Lord for all of it.

David's sentiments are our compliments to You today, Lord.  We are blessed to be sheep in Your fold and kings and queens in Your court.  May we never take You or Your blessings for granted.  With music and singing we celebrate your mighty acts today. Amen.

Psalm 21

For the choir director: A psalm of David.

(1) How the king rejoices in your strength, O Lord!  He shouts with joy because you give him victory.  Father, Your pool of strength is the reservoir we draw from and we rejoice in your strength today.  You alone are our Source, and in You we have victory over all that we face today.  Amen.

(2) For you have given him his heart’s desire; you have withheld nothing he requested.  Heavenly Father, if we are honest...we have all that we need: YOU.  When You are our heart's desire, then our requests reflect Yours, and contentment ensues.  We are blessed beyond measure in you, Lord.  May we realize and rejoice in that today!  Amen.

(3) You welcomed him back with success and prosperity. You placed a crown of finest gold on his head.  (4) He asked you to preserve his life, and you granted his request.  The days of his life stretch on forever.   Lord, over and over we fall to sin--big and little, and yet You welcome us back with success and prosperity.  We don't deserve the riches of Your glory, Lord!  But You place them on our heads anyway.  We praise You today!  Amen.

(5) Your victory brings him great honor, and you have clothed him with splendor and majesty.  (6) You have endowed him with eternal blessings and given him the joy of your presence.  Almighty Lord, it is such a blessing and honor to share in Your victories, and the greatest of these is the joy of your presence.  Time spent with You is invaluable and  (mood/heart/life) transforming.  We praise You today for endowing us with eternal blessings and giving us the joy of your presence.  Be present with us today.  Amen.

(7) For the king trusts in the Lord.  The unfailing love of the Most High will keep him from stumbling.  We trust in You, O Lord.  Please keep us from stumbling today, Father.  Steady our steps and our hearts.  May the unfailing love of the Most High will keep us close today.  Amen.

(13)  Rise up, O Lord, in all your power.  With music and singing we celebrate your mighty acts.
