Corona Devo 1083
I solemnly swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help me God.
Cross my heart and hope to die...
I pinky-promise...
It's the truth, I swear...
Till death do us part...
From elementary school children on a playground to soon-to-be-newlyweds standing before a pastor and exchanging rings: we have all embarked in a covenant of some sort at one time or another.
Today the Lord calls us to renew our covenant with Him.
In the Old Testament Book of II Chronicles, Chapter 34, Josiah the king felt compelled to reestablish a commitment and a promise between the Israelite people and the Lord, but first, he was compelled to renew that covenant for himself.
I feel the same renewal burden/draw/pull//bidding/spiritual-obligation today.
Join me.
Young or old, steeped in sin, or gracefully growing more like Jesus hourly...we can all make a renewed commitment to keeping God's commands, laws, and decrees.
I want to.
I want to pledge to obey the Lord...with all my heart and soul today.
Let's.
Then the king summoned all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem. (30) And the king went up to the Temple of the Lord with all the people of Judah and Jerusalem, along with the priests and the Levites—all the people from the greatest to the least. There the king read to them the entire Book of the Covenant that had been found in the Lord’s Temple. ~II Chronicles 34:29-30
Let's picture ourselves standing in a crowd of Believers...willingly.
More-than-that...let's picture ourselves standing in front of the group.
More-than-that, let's become unaware of anyone else (other Believers/those that intimidate us spiritually/those that we feel judged by). Get alone with the Lord in our spirit right now because our renewal and pledge is only between us and Him.
Picture that we are now in the Lord’s presence. Just us and just Him.
He pledged to obey the Lord by keeping all his commands, laws, and decrees with all his heart and soul. He promised to obey all the terms of the covenant that were written in the scroll. ~II Chronicles 34:31
Lord, today WE pledge to obey You by keeping all Your commands, laws, and decrees with all of our heart and soul to the best of our abilities. We love You and we present ourselves before You, Father. Our good, good, Father. We promise to obey all the terms of the covenant (promise) that were written in the scroll (Bible) (II Chronicles 34:31). Please help us to seek and to keep your commands this day and moving forward. Amen.

Are you still standing here (before the Lord) with me? Offering up our hearts, our oath, and ourselves to Him today?
I love the idea of it. And we have entered into the reality of doing it, right now. Feel the sparks in your spirit of renewing our covenant in the Lord’s presence.
It's real, because so is our pledge to obey the Lord by keeping all his commands, laws, and decrees with all our heart and soul (II Chronicles 34:31).
Can you feel the renewal within?

Sure, we've all embarked in other "covenants" of sorts, but today God's Word called us to renew our covenant with Him. And we accepted.
And we will not unaccept, waiver or turn away.
Not today, and not throughout the rest of our lifetime.
And throughout the rest of his lifetime, they did not turn away from the Lord, the God of their ancestors. ~II Chronicles 34:33

Join me.
I want to. .
Let's.
The king...renewed the covenant in the Lord’s presence. He pledged to obey the Lord by keeping all his commands, laws, and decrees with all his heart and soul. ~II Chronicles 34:29
