Corona Devo 1147

We can stress about provision.  We can fret about division.  We can debate about derision.  And we can worry about just about everything.  

There is much badness, it seems.

But what if we remembered the goodness God's got in store for us today...instead of being steeped in the badness?

Let's stop allowing life to knock the wind out of us, and today--take a deep breath of God's promised goodness.

How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you.  ~Psalm 31:19

    How much is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you.  

    How deep is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you.  

    How abundant is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you.  

    How available is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you.  

Ever thought about that?  That God HAS goodness stored up for us?  It's there already.  It's here today.  And it is great. 

"Great" as in positive and awesome?...Or "great" as in vast-proportion and magnitude?  God's answer is, "YES!" to both.  How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you.  ~Psalm 31:19

    How great is the goodness waiting for those who fear you. 

    How great is the goodness on reserve for those who fear you. 

    How great is the goodness planned out for those who fear you. 

    How great is the goodness purposed for those who fear you.

    How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who are afraid of You?

    How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who are quaking in their boots before You?

    How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who mis-take You authority for tyranny over them?

No--How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you.  ~Psalm 31:19

    For those who believe in You.  Will we today? 

    For those who trust in You.  Will we today?

    For those who have faith in You.  Will we today?

    For those who revere You.  Will we today?

    For those who submit to You.  Will we today?

    For those who obey You.  Will we today?

    For those who stand for You.  Will we today?

How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you.  ~Psalm 31:19

Fearing You is not easy, Father.  Honoring You is not for the faint-of-heart or faint-of-faith.  It is hard to follow You, Lord.  It's lonely.  It's heavy.  It's unpopular.  But it's WORTH it!  Help us to have a Holy fear for You today, Father.  Amen

You lavish it on those who come to you for protection,  blessing them before the watching world.  

(20) You hide them in the shelter of your presence, safe from those who conspire against them.  You shelter them in your presence, far from accusing tongues.  

(21) Praise the Lord, for he has shown me the wonders of his unfailing love.  He kept me safe  when my city was under attack.   

(22) In panic I cried out, “I am cut off from the Lord!”  But you heard my cry for mercy and  answered my call for help.  

(23) Love the Lord, all you godly ones!  For the Lord protects those who are loyal to him, but he harshly punishes the arrogant.  

(24) So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the Lord!  ~Psalm 31:19-24

It's too good to be true, but if You say so, Lord.  

We can stress and fret and debate and worry about everything, or today we can remember the goodness God's got in store for us.

At work, we provide Trainings for customers, so that they can be updated and educated on all of the latest features (and how to use them) within our product.  Many companies do this--sharing "Best Practices" are a way to ensure positive outcomes on the customer and vendor sides of things. The unanswered “why’s” of life, the disorder of our days, and even the unfairness of our struggles can cause us to question ourselves and also to question our God. But the order-of-Creation and the systems that God has set in place are undeniable answers that swing back and forth like God’s pendulum-reminder that He set the world in motion, and He continues to keep order, even when it seems as if we and our world are in dis- order.   Job was a man going through some heavy and hard stuff.   Maybe we are too.   Job’s trials had caused him to question the order of life, and possibly God’s dominion over it.   We can relate.   The “Why’s?” and the “Why Me’s” can stack up in our minds and hearts, but like a parent exercising loving-authority over a child, God reminds Job and us--of His power, omniscience and of His ultimate authority over everything: Creation… and us today .   Then the  Lord  answered Job from the whirlwind: (2) “Who i...

Running low on " good things " today?  Doesn't it (sometimes) seem like/trend like/read like/tweet like/water-cooler-chat or backyard-fence-visit like/intimidate like/depress like... there are no  good things in the land? . I know. It's no secret that many have abandoned  the Law of the  Lord,  and at times, that's us .   It is evident all around us that people have  followed each other  in this sin.  When we look around...or when we live our days...we can wonder: Are there  any  good things  left in the land? There are still some good things in the land ...and no matter how bleak we feel the "forecast" for today is...there will always  be  some good things in the land, because God is in the land.   T he Bible reminds us of that today.   ~~~ The Israelites (and their king, Rehoboam ) were God's people, but like all of us at times/seasons of our lives...they wandered from Lord and His ways....
