Stand tall today in the knowledge of who we are and Whose we are.

But when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law. (5) God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children.

(6) And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.” (7) Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child.  And since you are his child, God has made you his heir.  ~Galatians 4:5-7

Stand tall today!  We are children of God!  The One, true God.  The Lord Almighty.  The King of Kings and Lord of Lords--He calls us His.  Doesn't that make us want to sit up a little straighter?  Stand up a little taller?  Feel of greater value, worth and purpose?  Stand tall today!  We are children of God!  He created us, formed us, ransomed us, and called us by name.

But now, O Jacob, listen to the Lord who created you.  O Israel, the one who formed you says, “Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you.  I have called you by name; you are mine.  ~Isaiah 43:1

Forget what we are feeling, forget what someone told us or what we have told ourselves about our selves/our tendencies/our failures/our family tree/our past/our future.

Stand tall today in the truth of who God says that we are the moment we put our faith in Him and every day after:

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!  (18) And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. ~2 Corinthians 5:17-18

Shake the insecurity today.  Forget about our failures and stand tall in Christ and with Christ.  Trust Him.

  • Listen, stay alert, stand tall in the faith, be courageous, and be strong.  ~I Corinthians 16:13
  • He will stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the Lordin the majesty of the name of the Lord his God.  And they will live securely, for then his greatness  will reach to the ends of the earth.  ~Micah 5:4

And as the day goes on, stand tallStand firm.

And as the pain goes on/the sorrow goes on/the season goes on/the loneliness goes on/the ___ goes on: stand tall today.  Stand firm today

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. (11) Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes... (13) Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. (14) Stand firm then...  ~Ephesians 6:10-11, 13-14

~~~
As I walked out of our house today, I saw the Lord "telling" me (us) to stand tall and stand firm in Him today.
Tall, straight, determined: an army of irises stood at strong attention, ready to embrace the day, and looking gorgeous in the ready of it.  They were not crumpled in the worry of rain, or hunched in the fear of scorching: they stood tall.  Trusting their Maker to take care of them.
Think about the wild irises, and how they grow. They neither work nor spin thread; yet, I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed as beautifully as one of these. (28) If this is how God clothes grass, which is alive in the field today and thrown in the oven tomorrow, how much more will he clothe you! What little trust you have!
(29) “In other words, don’t strive after what you will eat and what you will drink — don’t be anxious. (30) For all the pagan nations in the world set their hearts on these things. Your Father knows that you need them too. (31) Rather, seek his Kingdom; and these things will be given to you as well.  ~Luke 12:27-31
Tall, straight, determined: may we join with our brothers and sisters in Christ as God's army standing at strong attention, ready to embrace today, and looking gorgeous in the ready of it.  May we reject the tendency to crumple in worry or hunch in fear.
Stand tall today.  We can trust our Maker to take care of us.
Blessings,
sarah
