Some people, some religions, some of us...say Jesus was a good guy, possibly even a prophet,...but come on...are we really supposed to buy-into the unbelievable idea that He rose from the grave?  That Jesus Christ was resurrected from the dead?

That's a big claim.  The biggest, actually.  No other religion, faith, belief-system, or god claims to have accomplished such a thing, such a feat, such a miracle, as overcoming death.  Only Jesus.

We can believe that God is good, and kind, and even a righteous judge over us.  We might even swallow that He created the whole world in six days: from majestic mountains to lush rainforests, and everything in between.  We might even go so far as to believe that God made each different type and kind of animal (and they didn't magically morph into each other over time).  And we may choose to believe that our Intelligent Creator also made each animal, plant, insect and bird specific to their own kind, from coloring, patterns and even down to intricacies such as specific migration-paths each year (think Canadian Geese, Monarch Butterflies, Humpback Whales etc.)

These are wild things that we can't define no matter how far back we dial the "science", because eventually, we have to answer the question, "Who started this whole ball rolling?"

Because someone did.  They had to.  And Christians know Who that Someone is.

But did He (God) have a Son (His only Son)?  And could God possibly have allowed that Son to be killed (for our sins--because He had NONE of His own), and could that Son (Jesus) have actually risen from the dead?

We might be able to believe a lot of other things in the Bible, maybe even all of the other things in the Bible...

But to claim coming-back from being crucified, pierced, buried and sealed in a tomb for three days?

Must we accept this fantastic (imaginative or fanciful; remote from reality /Oxford Languages Dictionary/) claim that the life and account of Jesus makes?

That Jesus Christ (Himself) foretold Saying, “The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised.” (Luke 9:22)

That's a biggie.  So big that God loses a lot of people who can't believe it.  Or won't.

But we must believe it.  We must accept the resurrection of Jesus in faith, even if we cannot possibly understand the how and why of it...because if Christ didn't rise from the dead, then neither can we.  And God and His Word say that we will.

But people have always had a hard time with it.

But tell me this—since we preach that Christ rose from the dead, why are some of you saying there will be no resurrection of the dead? (13) For if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised either. (14) And if Christ has not been raised, then all our preaching is useless, and your faith is useless.

(15) And we apostles would all be lying about God—for we have said that God raised Christ from the grave. But that can’t be true if there is no resurrection of the dead. (16) And if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised. (17) And if Christ has not been raised, then your faith is useless and you are still guilty of your sins. (18) In that case, all who have died believing in Christ are lost! (19) And if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world.

(20) But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead. He is the first of a great harvest of all who have died.

(21) So you see, just as death came into the world through a man, now the resurrection from the dead has begun through another man. (22) Just as everyone dies because we all belong to Adam, everyone who belongs to Christ will be given new life. (23) But there is an order to this resurrection: Christ was raised as the first of the harvest; then all who belong to Christ will be raised when he comes back.

 ~I Corinthians 15:12-34

Jesus Christ coming back from the dead---that's a big claim.  The biggest, actually.  But without it being true, the Believer-in-Christ has no truth.

We must accept the resurrection of Jesus in faith, and as the core of our faith--because the rest of our faith in God and our future with Him hinges on this event.

Blessings,
