No human wisdom or understanding or plan can stand against the Lord.  (31) The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the Lord.  ~Proverbs 21:30-31

What battle are we entering-in to today (or continuing to wage against)?

God’s Word gives us both peace and strength because (Remember!it is our job to be prepared...but the victory belongs to Him.

~~~
Our daughter and her soccer team friends enter into athletic battle today.  The competition was tough to qualify for this tournament, but the teams meeting up for daily duels this week will be the creme de la creme.
It’s human nature to be nervous, stressed, intimidated or unsure.  But I love the Bible, because God’s knows our thoughts and He gives us these words today:
The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the Lord.  ~Proverbs 21:31
Are we prepared for the battles we will enter today?
These girls are.  They have practiced, trained, and prepared.  They have had physical trainings, mental-trainings and I pray that our daughter and others on her team will draw from spiritual-training as well.
The horse is prepared for the day of battle…  ~Proverbs 21:30
In this situation, the job of the girls is to be prepared, and they are.  But we can have no doubt that the same is true for the other teams competing.  All of these "horses" are prepared for the day of battle.
And win or lose, the victory belongs to the Lord (Proverbs 21:31).
Some teams will be elated, some teams will be deflated, but we can trust that the horses prepared for their day of battle.
There is victory in winning, but there is also victory in sportsmanship, team comraderie, and losing-with-grace, if need be.
The victory belongs to the Lord (Proverbs 21:31), and He will bring us victory one way or another if we are prepared in Him to receive it.
But we are not 12 and 13 year old girls playing a soccer game today, are we?
We each have our own unique battles that await us today.  Be encouraged by God’s Word and be prepared.
If we are:
  • seeking God: (You will seek me and you will find me when you seek me with all your heart.  ~Jeremiah 29:13)
  •  reading His Word: (Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”  ~Matthew 4:4)
  • hiding it in our hearts (I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.  ~Psalm 119:11)
  • and living for Him: (so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God... ~Colossians 1:10)
 ...then the horse is prepared for the day of battle…  ~Proverbs 21:30
God’s Word gives us both peace and strength because (Remember!the victory belongs to Him.
It’s our job to be prepared, and to accept "victory" however it is delivered to us via God today.
As long as our hearts, minds and souls are prepared, it's a win.
No human wisdom or understanding or plan can stand against the Lord.  (31) The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the Lord.  ~Proverbs 21:30-31
