Have we offended God with our pride?  Our attitude?  Our entitlement?

Even when our suffering is serious, deep, leveling... God still sits on His throne and is worthy of respect, glory, and honor.  But have we (instead) dishonored Him with doubt, self-pity, self-care, and self?

Remember today that God loves us.  (See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are!  ~I John 3:1)

Remember (even in our suffering) today that God went to ultimate lengths to save us and prevent us from eternal pain, loss, and separation from Him.  (For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  ~John 3:16)

Remember today that God has a plan for us.  (For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  ~Jeremiah 29:11)

Remember today that God's plan for our days and lives (if we are seeking Him) will ultimately culminate in our best interest later (eternity with God), even if we can't see/feel/understand proof of that now.  He is always working.  (And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.  ~Romans 8:28).

We sometimes prop our "faith" up as a shield, but behind it, we are angry at our circumstances.  Words, feelings and entitlements like "injustice", "unfairness", and "undeserved" swell in our hearts because we think that as God's children we don't deserve what we are going through or facing.

But have we (so quickly) forgotten all that God has already done for us?  In reviewing our walk with Him, we will remember over and over and over how He has met us...held us...and loved-us through so much and through all of it...everytime.

Remember (afresh) today that God is holy.  He is higher.  He is beyond us and our understanding of Him and His ways.  He is God Almighty.  And...while He loves us completely, He owes us nothing, least of all a defense or explanation for whatever thorn happens to be stuck in our side today.

And in remembering God's holiness, may we repent of our pride before Him.  Holy, all-powerful, Almighty...Him.

Then Job replied to the Lord: (2) “I know that you can do anything, and no one can stop you.

(3) You asked, ‘Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorance?’  It is I—and I was talking about things I knew nothing about, things far too wonderful for me....

(5) I had only heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes.  (6) I take back everything I said, and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance.”  ~Job 42:1-3, 5-6

Come home to God today.  All of God.  Not the "Santa Claus" idea of God, and not the "disciplinarian" idea of God, but the whole of who our Holy Lord is: both loving and authoritative...and holy.

~~~
Lord, forgive us when we talk about things that we know nothing about, things far too wonderful for us (Job 42:3)...things that are in Your control and purview--not ours.  We love You because You are holy, and forgive us when we forget that You are holy.  We submit in repentance before You and Your holiness today.  Amen.
The high and lofty one who lives in eternity, the Holy One, says this: “I live in the high and holy place with those whose spirits are contrite and humble.  I restore the crushed spirit of the humble and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts.  ~Isaiah 57:15
Thank you, Lord!
Blessings,
