What's happening in our lives today?

Birth...has a baby come?  Death...has a loved one gone?

One had to happen for the other to occur, and both will always occur in every life.  But that does not make the birth less jubilant or the death less devastating, it's just that we cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end when we are living in a season of it.

~~~
What time is it in our lives today?
Are we planting something today...or harvesting?
We had to be in the first season to benefit from the second, and God is in both seasons with us.  He has made everything beautiful for its own time.
~~~

Is there healing in our hearts today?  Killing?

Are we crying?  Have we been laughing?  Is it time to dance?

Are we in a season of searching...or are we still and content for a time?

Is there war for us today, or do we enjoy a time of peace

Both will come.  Both will go.  There is a season for all.

~~~
We all have moments and memories of the seasons that we weather.  The highs, the lows, and the joys and sorrows...and they make up the seasons of our lives...and both sides of the coin/season/time are okay.
Whatever the "time" or "season" that we are in today...it's okay.
These seasons have come before and they will change soon enough, and so whether we are enjoying our season or barely able to take the next breath during it...it's okay, and God planned it this way.
~~~

For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.

(2) A time to be born and a time to die.  A time to plant and a time to harvest.

(3) A time to kill and a time to heal.  A time to tear down and a time to build up.

(4) A time to cry and a time to laugh.  A time to grieve and a time to dance.

(5) A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones.  A time to embrace and a time to turn away.

(6) A time to search and a time to quit searching.  A time to keep and a time to throw away.

(7) A time to tear and a time to mend.  A time to be quiet and a time to speak.

(8) A time to love and a time to hate.  A time for war and a time for peace...

(11) Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end...

(14) And I know that whatever God does is final. Nothing can be added to it or taken from it. God’s purpose is that people should fear him. (15) What is happening now has happened before, and what will happen in the future has happened before, because God makes the same things happen over and over again.  ~Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, 11, 14-15

These verses could sound depressing, but to me, they are a word of comfort from God.  What we are facing today will pass.  This season of life, this time...will come and go, and that is natural, prescribed, even ordained by our Lord.

There is peace in knowing there is a plan.  There is a comfort in knowing that God has a rhythm to our lives, and every life that came before us and that will come after us.  We know this.  We have experienced it.  But in our humanity, we cannot explain it.  But God can, and we can have faith that He is the Master over our seasons and the times that we face today.  And even if we can't see it (people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end... ~Ecclesiastes 3:11), we can trust (and have a holy fear of) His processes.

Whatever "time" we are in today (birth, death, planting, harvesting, killing, healing, tearing down, building up, crying, laughing, grieving, dancing, scattering, gathering, embracing, turning-away, searching, not-searching, keeping, throwing-away, tearing, mending, being quiet, speaking, loving, hating, war, peace... it's going to be okay.  Whatever it is--it's only for a season, and God has made everything beautiful for its own time (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

Blessings,
