It's interesting (and varied) what we allow to frighten us, or even to cause us to live in dread.

For some, money and wealth (or the lack of it) frightens us.  Our finances become hallowed ground and our money-thoughts and planning can consume us.  We see wealth as a security and we convince ourselves that if we have/accumulate/invest enough, then we will be kept safe.

The Lord has given me a strong warning not to think like everyone else does. He said, (12) “Don’t call everything a conspiracy, like they do, and don’t live in dread of what frightens them.

(13) Make the Lord of Heaven’s Armies holy in your life.  He is the one you should fear.  He is the one who should make you tremble.  (14)  He will keep you safe...  ~Isaiah 8:11-14

It's not money for some of us--it's health.  The fear and dread of getting sick/Cancer/Covid (or the latest version of it)/or even just aging, scares us...makes us tremble.

But God says don't let it.

It might be severe weather, End Times, the decay of society, aliens, or anything...but we all have something that can become a conspiracy in our lives (and let's face it--our minds).

Whatever "it" is--we have allowed it to have command over us if we fear it more than we fear the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

The Bible gives us a strong warning today--not to think like everyone else does.  (Isaiah 8:11).

We need not fear what everyone else does.

We don't need to live in dread of tomorrow/the diagnosis/or the person that has it out for us.

If we will put God (the Lord of Heaven’s Armies) back on the throne as King over our thoughts, worries, dreams, and lives... He will keep you safe (Isaiah 8:14)

But we must get serious about Him if we are to make the Lord of Heaven’s Armies holy in our life.

We know how to "get serious" about something and allow it to have control over us, don't we?

If money and finances are our "lord" right now, how often do we check our bank account?  The stock market?  Our 401K or our retirement fund?

Get serious about checking in with Jesus that many times/that often everyday.  Watch and see how finances will take a backseat to God's provision over our hearts and lives, if we will Make the Lord of Heaven’s Armies holy in your life (Isaiah 8:13).

~~~
We know how to "get serious" about allowing weather to determine our mood, peace or security.  When weather is a fear in our life, we check it daily and often.  We have alerts and reminders and even phone calls to center our attention (and fear) on it.
Turn the channel of your heart from "weather" to Jesus.  Allow God's Word to determine our mood, peace and security.  Check The Bible daily and often.  Create alerts (wake up earlier and spend time with Him!), reminders to center our attention (and holy fear) on God.  Make the Lord of Heaven’s Armies holy in your life.
When the Bible tells us that God is the one you should fear.  He is the one who should make you tremble (Isaiah 8:13)---what does it mean?
It means that God is powerful, all-powerful.  He is greater than anything we face today, and He is Lord over everything that we may encounter today, from finances to sickness to weather to wickedness.  He is holy, and He is powerful, and He is the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
If we will give Him the honor, respect, dominion-in-our-hearts, and "fear" that He is due, He will keep you safe (Isaiah 8:14).  And that's all we really want, isn't it?
Let's take the Lord's strong warning today, not to think (and fear) like everyone else does...
Make the Lord of Heaven’s Armies holy in your life today.  He is the one you should fear.  He is the one who should make you tremble. He will keep you safe...  ~Isaiah 8:11, 13-14
