How far do we feel from God today?  Is there distance between us and Him?  Is there unresolved sin?  Accidental addiction?  Blatant disobedience?

Is there guilt?  Shame?  So much pain, but we...  Just.  Can't.  Get.  Out.

How far do we feel from God today?

The ends of the earth?

He calls us back today.  Through His Word, God is calling us back to Him today, saying, ‘You are my servant.’  For I have chosen you and will not throw you away (Isaiah 41:9).

And we are His servants.  We are chosen by Our Heavenly Father.
He will never ever throw us away.

We may have forgotten that truth for a time.  We may have been running from that truth for a season.  But that truth remains, and always will.  We are His.

Turn around today.
Turn away from whatever path/choices/sins/temptations have distracted us and gotten us off of God's path.  And God invites us to turn toward Him today.  Whatever sin drew us away...He knows all about it, and He loves us anyway...and our Lord beckons us back to Him today.  ("Israel" is us.)

“But as for you, Israel my servant, Jacob my chosen one, descended from Abraham my friend, (9) I have called you back from the ends of the earth, saying, ‘You are my servant.’
For I have chosen you and will not throw you away.  Isaiah 41:8-9

Sometimes we can get so buried in sin and separation for God that we refuse to believe that we could ever have a place with Him, but allow God to remind us today through his Word that we do.  He-is-with-us.

We are lowly worms compared to the majesty, authority and power of God Almighty, and yet, His heart is for us, even when we have been far from Him.

Are we far from God today?  Come back to God today.   Don’t be afraid...don’t be discouraged.  He will strengthen us.  He will help us.  He will hold us up with His victorious right hand.  He is our Redeemer, no matter what we need redeeming of and no matter how far we feel from Him today.

How can we know that?  How could we possibly trust that?  He tells us:

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.  Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you.  I will hold you up with my victorious right hand...  (13) For I hold you by your right hand—I, the Lord your God.  And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.  (14) Though you are a lowly worm, O Jacob, don’t be afraid, people of Israel, for I will help you.  I am the Lord, your Redeemer.  I am the Holy One of Israel.’  ~Isaiah 41:10, 13-14

We don't have to be afraid that he won't accept us.  That we are too filthy.  That there is no hope for a sinner like us.
There is, and God Himself says to us: "Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you" (Isaiah 41:13).

He's here to help us.

Do we feel far from God today?
He beckons us back to Him...No matter what or where we have been.

“But as for you... (9) I have called you back from the ends of the earth, saying, ‘You are my servant.’
For I have chosen you and will not throw you away.
(10) Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.  I will hold you up with my victorious right hand...
(13) For I hold you by your right hand—I, the Lord your God.  And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.  (14) Though you are a lowly worm... don’t be afraid... for I will help you.
I am the Lord, your Redeemer.  I am the Holy One of Israel.’  ~Isaiah 41:8-10, 13-14

We may have forgotten these truths for a time or season, but God has not forgotten us.  We are His.

Turn back to Him today.

Blessings,

sarah
