I was feeling out-of-options and like I had no where to turn.
And then God reminded me of His promises for victory today when I read His Word.
He reminds US of His promises for victory today through Scripture, and all that He has previously done over the years in our lives. (And then He tells us to trust in His future promise of victory.)
God was reminding the Israelites of what He had (previously) done for them when they thought they had no options and no where to turn. The Egyptians were on their tail and coming in hot (and bothered). The Israelites had a lead, but it was narrowing by the minute, and there was no where to turn. The Red Sea lay before them...and the Egyptians were closing in behind them.
But God made a way:
(15) I am the Lord, your Holy One, Israel’s Creator and King. (16) I am the Lord, who opened a way through the waters, making a dry path through the sea.
(17) I called forth the mighty army of Egypt with all its chariots and horses. I drew them beneath the waves, and they drowned, their lives snuffed out like a smoldering candlewick. ~Isaiah 43:16-17
The Israelites knew that memory. They had lived it, and praised the Lord for it, and proclaimed it as a testimony-of-faith to their children. The Lord had given them victory when they felt out-of-options and like they had no where to turn.
Let our minds flash to situations, people and outcomes over the years of our lives that we still can't explain...except to say that God made a way.
Think and recall... the experiences where God (first) promised victory...and then brought it, and now we can praise Him for it.
For the barren situation where He made a way for it to bear fruit or come to fruition.
For people that were lost to us, but are now found.
For people that were lost to God, but are now found-in-Him.
For broken relationships that have mended.
For healings, His presence, His comfort, His Love...His salvation.
In all of these memories...God made a way and provided victory for us, which originated (first) as a promise of victory from Him to us...and then He made good on His promise.
Today might be our day of promised victory.
We may still be standing at the edge of the Red Sea, and it hasn't parted yet...
We may still be swimming in the jargon and shock and echo of the doctor's diagnosis...
We may be (figuratively) gasping for air or grasping at straws in our current state-of-affairs...
But God will make a way: He promises us that..He has proven that...and we can believe that.

Remember what God has done, and see what He did yesterday...and then--Forget all that! (He says), because He's got new victories in store and down-the-line for us today.
“But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. (19) For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?
I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
(20) The wild animals in the fields will thank me, the jackals and owls, too, for giving them water in the desert.
Yes, I will make rivers in the dry wasteland so my chosen people can be refreshed.
(21) I have made Israel for myself, and they will someday honor me before the whole world. ~Isaiah 43:18-21
God is for us! He gives us water in our dry wastelands, and He has victorious promises for us!
And (this is a promise of victory in itself!)--the Lord promises to refresh us.
Yes, I will make rivers in the dry wasteland so my chosen people can be refreshed. ~Isaiah 43:20
Be refreshed by the promise of victory that God gives us today.

Of course, we all have our own scenarios that surround us, stifle us, and stretch us today: but God reminds us today that one day soon, and maybe even by tonight, we will see that promise of victory fulfilled. The Red Sea parted. The enemy removed.
And then we will praise the Lord for it and proclaim it as a testimony-of-faith. God did that! He made a way where there wasn't one.
We (like the Israelites) can remember what God has done, and as we sit in our current quandary, in anticipation, and while-we-are-still-waiting...He provides (through the Bible) a promise of victory today, even before we see what He will do. (Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. ~Hebrews 11:1).
Today--remember the previous ways that God gave us victory, and then stand in faith that He promises victory today. In fact, forget all that—it is nothing compared to what He is going to do!
