God knows our day today.  He has laid our plans and orchestrated our outcomes.

Inquire of Him.  Trust Him.  Believe Him.  Ask Him what's on tap today, for He has already plotted it out and planned it.

God assures us of this through His Word (and some of us need to hear today that He is in control and He will manage our day and all that we will face).  He will.

...all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.  ~Psalm 1Maps39:16

The Bible (God's Word) also gives us real-life examples of people who trusted their days to God.  They woke up just as we did today, they asked the Lord into their day and lives, and then (get ready!) they trusted Him, even if they didn't understand exactly what He was sending them to do.

We can do that today too!

As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples, (2) saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me. (3) If anyone says anything to you, say that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away.”...

(6) The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. (7) They brought the donkey and the colt and placed their cloaks on them for Jesus to sit on. (8) A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. (9) The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David!”

“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”...  ~Matthew 21:1-3, 6-9

Here Jesus asked a couple of His disciples to take away someone (else's!) vehicle for transportation and work (plowing etc.): their donkey.

In today's day...If Jesus told us to--would we feel comfortable walking up to someone and telling them that we were going to borrow their Ford F150 Truck (example taken from Pastor Gary Hamrick, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ouwjW9GUGPg)?

And when they asked (or yelled!), "Why?" we were taking their truck, would we be faithful enough to say that the Lord needs it (Matthew 21:3)?

The disciples did the equivalent of just that when they took the donkey that Jesus had told them would be waiting for them (even though they were not quite sure of how it would turn out).

This is called having faith, and things went just as Jesus said they would.  (Those who were sent ahead went and found it just as he had told them.  ~Luke 19:32)

First, they inquired of Jesus, and then they trusted Him, and believed Him.

Inquire of Jesus today.  Trust Him when He directs us.  Believe Him.

God knows our day today.  He has laid our plans and orchestrated our outcomes.

Ask Him what the plan is...and then listen.  With our ears, eyes, hearts and spirits: listen for the Lord's leading on our day today.

The disciples with the donkey for Palm Sunday wasn't an isolated example of people trusting God with their actions and their days.  The Bible contains sixty-six Books, all chocked-full of examples of people trusting God with their actions and their days (and others who suffered when they did not).

Trust Him with our plans (and outcomes) today.

Another example to convince us of God's sovereignty over our days (and lives) happened later in the Passion Week when it was time for Passover.  The disciples and Jesus were living a bit of a nomadic life, as they traveled consistently with Jesus as He preached the Good News of God, healed the sick and spread the hope of Heaven.  This meant the disciples had no "homebase" in which to prepare for important religious celebrations, such as Passover.

But God knew their hearts and their day.  He had laid plans for them and had already orchestrated their outcomes.

The disciples inquired of Jesus.  We can too.  The disciples trusted Him.  We can too today.  The disciples believed Jesus.  We can too today.

On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, when it was customary to sacrifice the Passover lamb, Jesus’ disciples asked him, “Where do you want us to go and make preparations for you to eat the Passover?”

(13) So he sent two of his disciples, telling them, “Go into the city, and a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him. (14) Say to the owner of the house he enters, ‘The Teacher asks: Where is my guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’ (15) He will show you a large room upstairs, furnished and ready. Make preparations for us there.”

(16) The disciples left, went into the city and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover.  ~Mark 14:12-16
