Corona Devo 1538
I had a little pebble in my shoe the other day. A tiny little thing, but oh how that little stone bothered me. It was always there. Sometimes it would shift in my shoe, and I might not notice it for a step or two, and then ouch, there it was again. It wasn't going away. and it was constantly rubbing me, bothering me, wearing me down, and hurting me.
I had to stop and deal with it.
And as soon as I did...there was relief.
Immediately.
It was wonderful, and I had to ask myself why I didn't stop and take care of it in the first place, instead of letting it wear on me and wear me down.

Do we have a "pebble" of unforgiveness in our shoe today?
Something that we need to deal with? Something that isn't going away? Something that is rubbing us the wrong way? Something that might shift for a while, but that (ouch) always resurfaces? Something that is wearing us down and hurting us?
Now I appeal to Euodia and Syntyche. Please, because you belong to the Lord, settle your disagreement. (3) And I ask you, my true partner, to help these two women, for they worked hard with me in telling others the Good News. They worked along with Clement and the rest of my co-workers, whose names are written in the Book of Life.
(4) Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! (5) Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. ~Philippians 4:2-5

Settle your disagreement today.
It happens: Fights, disagreements, differences of opinion.
It happens: Even with Believers, and followers of Christ.
It happens:: Even with Euodia and Syntyche, and they were good women doing the Lord's work! (They worked hard...in telling others the Good News. They worked along with (others)...whose names are written in the Book of Life. ~Philippians 4:3).
It happens...Even with people that work hard in telling others the Good News about Jesus...
It happens...Even with Euodia and Syntyche and even with you and me.

Are we in the middle of a disagreement with someone? Are we being hindered (crippled) by the constant rubbing of this disagreement on our heart?
God is speaking into our hearts today through the Bible. Settle your disagreement.
God is speaking into our hurts today through the Bible. Settle your disagreement.
God is speaking into our stubbornness today through the Bible. Settle your disagreement.
God is speaking freedom over this for us today through the Bible. Settle your disagreement.
~~~
We know that it's not going away, and it is constantly rubbing us, bothering us, wearing us down, and hurting us.
Today, let's stop and deal with it.
"Why should I?", we might ask in defiance.
Please, because you belong to the Lord, settle your disagreement. ~Philippians 4:2
"Why should I?", we might still ask.
Because God's Word says so.
And I have a sneaking suspicion that as soon as we settle our disagreement...there will be relief.
Immediately.
It will be wonderful, and we'll ask ourselves why we didn't stop and take care of it in the first place, instead of letting it wear on us and wear us down.
Do we have a "pebble" of unforgiveness in our shoe today?
Then, (insert our name here): Please, because you belong to the Lord, settle your disagreement (Philippians 4:2).
It happens, yes, but so should reconciliation.
"Why should I?", we ask?
Because the Bible told us to today, and Remember, the Lord is coming soon (Philippians 4:5).
