Corona Devo 1546
I had a dream last night and the image is still crystal-clear in my mind.
My whole family was in the backyard of a house, and when we pushed open a gate leading to a grassy courtyard area...there was a lion standing there. Right there, a few feet from us.
Powerful. Strong. Intimidating. Fierce.
And then, (in the dream), we shut the door quickly.
But when I woke up, I remembered it all so clearly, and I was surprised that I hadn't felt fear. It was more of a sense of awe of this big, powerful beast...in our midst.
I can still feel the butterflies in my stomach and the electricity in the air that I "felt" when I was dreaming it. It was a mixture of awe and wonder and fear swirled with a little bit of excitement and wonder.
I have no idea what the dream "meant", if anything. But I do know that the Bible (Book of Revelation) speaks of our Lord as the "Lion of Judah". And He is fierce. He is strong. He is mighty. He is holy. And He is the only one with ultimate authority. ...and He will triumph.
~~~
Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals. (2) And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?” (3) But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. (4) I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside.
(5) Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.” ~Revelation 5:1-5
There is no intention of fear (of the Lion of Judah) portrayed in these verses. The Lord is described in power...in strength...and in might: like a mighty lion. And this Lion fiercely protects those that are His and the Truth that He is.
The Lion of Judah powerfully protects His. The Lion of Judah unashamedly and unabashedly protects His.
This is what the Lord says to me: “As a lion growls, a great lion over its prey—and though a whole band of shepherds is called together against it, it is not frightened by their shouts or disturbed by their clamor—so the Lord Almighty will come down to do battle on Mount Zion and on its heights. ~Isaiah 31:4
The Lion of Judah is not prowling around seeking to do battle with those that know Him. No, He is our protector. His love is fierce over us. His plan is purposed for us. The Lion of Judah is worthy and is able to open the scroll, and He is victorious and He will be victorious.
And if we are with Him, then we have nothing to fear in the Lion of Judah, except for a holy fear of His dominion and sanctity and power.
All (and everything) that we must do is accept Him into our hearts and live for Him. And when we do, He is protective over us and our lives and our eternity with Him.
Think about that.
Believe that...
That the Lion of Judah is not far from us. That He is as close as our next prayer to Him and as near as we will allow Him to be.
The thought of being in proximity with our Holy Lord should produce a sense of wonder in us, but not fear.
Let's open our Bible, close our eyes, and open our hearts in prayer to the Lion of Judah, and we will feel the electricity in the air when we connect with Christ, the Lion of Judah. It's a mixture of awe and wonder and fear swirled with a little bit of excitement and wonder. The Lion of Judah stands before us today.
Don't close the door on Him.
