I lost my Bible bookmark!  I guess it's not a big deal, but do you think (by flipping) I could remember/find where I had left off reading my Bible yesterday? Nope.

But, as I flipped through and scanned pages and chapters and books, God's Word and Truth jumped out at me from all of the pages!  The Bible is a treasure trove of God's wisdom, love and discipline for us, His Children.

Every verse is a great verse, it's up to the Lord and us to discern which ones are meant for our hearts on this very day and in relation to the people, situations, trials and moods that we will encounter.

Join me as we "find our place" with God for the day.  Let's "flip through" the Bible and "get on the same page" with Him.

“When you go out to fight your enemies and you face horses and chariots and an army greater than your own, do not be afraid. The Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, is with you!  ~Deuteronomy 20:1

Are we facing big things today?  An army greater than our ownDo not be afraid.  God says.
The Lord your God...is with you!

Lord, your discipline is good, for it leads to life and health.  You restore my health and allow me to live!  (17) Yes, this anguish was good for me, for you have rescued me from death and forgiven all my sins.  (18) For the dead cannot praise you; they cannot raise their voices in praise...  (19) Only the living can praise you as I do today.  Each generation tells of your faithfulness to the next.  ~Isaiah 38:16-19

Sometimes God's Word and God discipline us, and...it's good for us.  It's not pleasant, discipline never is.  But it is necessary at times.

We are God's children, and He cannot allow us/expect us to know His ways without being taught sometimes.

For the dead cannot praise you; they cannot raise their voices in praise...  (19) Only the living can praise you as I do today.  Each generation tells of your faithfulness to the next.  ~Isaiah 38:16-19

And we are alive today to know Him, so let's praise Him!  Our Father in Heaven is holy and almighty and amazing!   Only the living can praise Him, and He is worthy of it!  Praise the Lord today, and (Each generation tells of your faithfulness to the next...) who are we passing on the hope of the Lord to?

Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else. (5) For we are each responsible for our own conduct.  ~Galatians 6:4-5

 Let's stop worrying about and comparing ourselves to others today!

~~~
Though we are overwhelmed by our sins, you forgive them all.  (4) What joy for those you choose to bring near, those who live in your holy courts.  ~Psalm 65:3-4
Amen.
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.  (30) Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; (31) but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.  ~Isaiah 40:29-31
Raise your (exhausted) hand if you needed to hear (and receive) these verses today.  Don't give up today.  He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak today.
Who among you fears the Lord and obeys the word of his servant?  Let the one who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the Lord and rely on their God.  ~Isaiah 50:10
God calls everyone to Himself.  All are welcome, but we must choose to step out of the dark and into His light.  Trust in the name of the Lord and rely on God today.
~~~

Yet our God gave us the courage to declare his Good News to you boldly, in spite of great opposition.  ~I Thessalonians 2:2

Be courageous in boldly declaring God's Good News to others today.  Someone needs to hear a verse and His hope, and God has called and equipped us to do it.  Will we?

~~~
I never did find my "spot" in the Bible, but I was filled and encouraged by every verse that jumped off of the page as I searched.  Sometimes our "routine" or "schedule" is not (at all) what God has on our docket for today.
Every verse is a great verse.
Blessings,
sarah
