Dear Child of Mine,

This includes you....

    Love, God

No matter how long we have been at this "follower-of-Jesus" thing, there are some parts that never get old.  Namely, the part where God and His Son say, "This includes you...".

They could choose anyone...

The person who is worthy of the Lord is no one...

And everyone I know deserves the reconciliation that God brought through Christ more than me...but (brace yourself): God says, "This includes you" to me and you, too.

It never gets old to hear that.

It actually never seems possible, or logical, or even Biblical to hear that, no matter how often in our Christian-walk that we do.  But (perhaps), that's what God is repeating into our ears and hearts again today.

This includes you...  ~Colossians 1:21

~~~
Let's allow the Bible to break it (salvation) down for us (again)...because it never gets old to realize.
Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body.  He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead.  So he is first in everything.
(19) For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, (20) and through him God reconciled everything to himself.  He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.   ~Colossians 1:18-20
Are we tracking so far?
God lives in Christ, and Christ is...the head of the church.
Who is "the church"?
You and me!  ...And anyone who admits their sin and accepts Christ into their heart as Lord.  We are the church, and Christ is the head of it and us.  And the Bible says that through Christ, God reconciled everything and everyone (who admits their sin and accepts Christ into their heart as Lord) to himself.
Us?
God reconciles even us to himself?
This couldn't include me if He knew me..
This can't include me because of my past...
This shouldn't include me because of my present sins...
If God knew all about me, then this (promise of reconciliation) can't include me...
But keep reading!  (Because His message to us never gets old.)
Keep returning to God.  (Because He says we are included, even if we feel unworthy.)
Keep asking the Lord what HE says about including us.  And listen when He responds through Scripture today:
(21This includes you who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions. (22) Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body.
As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.  ~Colossians 1:21-22
Do these verses make anyone (else) cry?
Does the possibility of this (being included) blow-our-mind and melt-our-heart because we realize the many ways that we have excluded ourselves from the privilege of being included with God?
I can hardly believe it.  And it never gets old to read and realize:
This includes you who were once far away from God.  ~Colossians 1:21
God includes us.  I'll never tire of that knowledge, and I'll never understand it.
But our Heavenly Father tries to explain it to us: Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body.  As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.  ~Colossians 1:22
I'm sorry.  Say what?
Holy and blameless?...  Standing before God without a single fault?...  Me?...  (Us??)...
Say WHAT?
No matter how long we have been at this "follower-of-Jesus" thing, there are some parts that never get old.  The Lord of the universe saying that we "are holy and blameless as we stand before him without a single fault" is one of those parts.
But God says this to us today, and we have to believe it.
(23) But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News. The Good News has been preached all over the world, and I, Paul, have been appointed as God’s servant to proclaim it.  ~Colossians 1:23
Don't deny this truth (that God's reconciliation includes us).  Receive it today and continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it.
Does this truth make anyone (else) catch their spiritual breath?
It's very hard to believe, but the Bible says that we must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it.
Say it out loud.
No--I'm serious: read these verses aloud to yourself and you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it:
For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, (20) and through him God reconciled everything to himself...
(21This includes you who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions. (22) Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body.
As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.
(23) But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News. ~Colossians 1:19-23
This includes you....
