Sometimes life seems so full of work and struggle.

This week has been that way for me, (anyone else?).  So much work...and so much struggle.  And it's not that I (even) have "so-much" work to do...just that everything I do is so much work.

It's almost like sometimes and some days we seem to be moving against a gravitational force.

And it's not that we can't complete things, but rather, it's more like everything seems to be such a struggle to complete, or to accomplish, or to even try.

I work and struggle so hard (Colossians 1:29).

If this sentence summarizes your situation, I get you.

I picture the trudge of walking through a deep drift of wet snow, or the chaos of trying to wrangle-up a group of toddlers: I work and struggle so hard (Colossians 1:29).

But...God gets us.

He sees us as we work and struggle so hard.  I am convinced of that, and we even have proof of that, because He acknowledges that we work and struggle so hard in His Word, (the Bible), and He tells us how to survive and navigate the work and struggle: by depending on Christ’s mighty power that works within me (Colossians 1:29).

On the hard days and in the difficult seasons, we can (and we must) depend on Christ's mighty power.  And what a spiritual-injection God gives us by reminding us today that we don't have to go far for help, because Christ’s mighty power...works within me.

God is right here with us, in the struggle and in the work and in the hard.  And He gives us Himself to depend on.

I get it.

But we work and struggle so hard for a reason.

Have we forgotten it?  Do we remember the purpose and plan that God has for everyone of us?

Satan hasn't.  The evil one knows exactly what God's children (us!) are up to today, and he does everything he can to make us work and struggle so hard.

Jesus loves us, and He saved us.  And He told us to tell others about Him and what He is doing in our life.

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, (20) teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.  ~Matthew 28:19

That's the Good News.

But it's not always easy to bring it, and there is an evil one who makes it very difficult sometimes.  It's almost like we seem to be moving against a gravitational force.  But remember our call and responsibility as sons and daughter of the King:

So we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us. We want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ.

(29) That’s why I work and struggle so hard, depending on Christ’s mighty power that works within me.  ~Colossians 1:28-29

Yes, unfortunately, we will work and struggle so hard some days and sometimes and some seasons in this life.

But let's remember why (So we tell others about Christ...  ~Colossians 1:28) and let's also remember Who we depend on (depending on Christ’s mighty power that works within me.  ~Colossians 1:29).

~~~
Even if life is full of work and struggle today, we got this.  Because God's got us, and we can depend on Him (and His mighty power that works within us).
Blessings,
sarah
