We've heard Him.  Distinctly and clearly, we've heard and felt Jesus tell us to "come" to Him.

Even though the world tells us otherwise and logic doesn't point to faith, still:...we've heard Him, and we have come to Him..

“Come,” he said.  ~Matthew 14:29

The big decision that looms for us to make...

“Come,” he said.  ~Matthew 14:29

The sickness or disease that we face today and we fear...

“Come,” he said.  ~Matthew 14:29

 The surgery that is set...

“Come,” he said.  ~Matthew 14:29

The sorrow that suffocates...

“Come,” he said.  ~Matthew 14:29

The burdens that bear down on us...

“Come,” he said.  ~Matthew 14:29

Whatever we face in our mind and heart right now...

“Come,” he said.  ~Matthew 14:29

We've heard the Lord.  Distinctly and clearly, we've heard and felt Jesus tell us to "come" to Him.

And so, we come.  We walk in pure faith to the Savior of the world who has asked us to come to Him.  We can trust Him.  He won't let us fall.  And so, we come.

We read the Bible, and hear Him, we pray and talk with Him.  We live and experience Jesus in people, places, decisions and outcomes.  With our attention purposed on Him, we come.

“Come,” he said.  ~Matthew 14:29

Lord, help us to keep our eyes focused on You today.  When we are in obedience to You, in prayer to You, and in submission to You...we come and we are kept...by You.  Help us to keep our eyes only on You, Lord.  We are safe, steady, and saved when we focus on You.  Amen.

But, oh, the winds of this world: they make us afraid.

Winds of fear blow into our mind.  Winds of anxiety almost knock us over, and winds of worry knock the wind out of us.  When the winds blow, the vulnerabilities in our faith show.  And so, while we were walking boldly toward Christ and His call for us...the winds cause doubt.  Our steps can falter.  We begin to sink.

What is taking our gaze off of God today?

What winds have blown into our heart and mind to make us fear and doubt the path that God has placed us on?

The winds and waves of the world will come.  We must keep our focus on Jesus, so that we don't sink into them.  And even if we do...Jesus catches us.

Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”    ~Matthew 14:31

Don't doubt God or His plans or His promises for us today.

He told us through His Word and His will to come to Him.  We've heard Him.  Distinctly and clearly, we've heard and felt Jesus tell us to "come" to Him.

So, let's do it today.

No distractions or doubts.

Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. (23) After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, (24) and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.

(25) Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. (26) When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.

(27) But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

(28) “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”

(29) “Come,” he said.

Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. (30) But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

(31) Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

(32) And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. (33) Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”  ~Matthew 14:22-33
