God's giving us a message in His Word (the Bible) today. Close your eyes.
God told the prophet Jeremiah all of these things. The Lord gave another message to Jeremiah. ~Jeremiah 30:1.
Listen to the message. Relax and receive it. Drift off into it. It is for us too.
God told Jeremiah that the Israelites were His (God's) people, but they were not acting like it. (Are we?)
The Israelites were afraid...and they were forgetting God in the midst of their circumstances. (Are we?) This is what the Lord says: “I hear cries of fear; there is terror and no peace. ~Jeremiah 30:5
But it's not like the Israelites couldn't have hope because of the Lord and in the Lord, because they could! And no matter what we face today, we can too! God reminded Jeremiah to remind the people...and to remind us...
- For in that day,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will break the yoke from their necks and snap their chains. ~Jeremiah 30:8
- For my people will serve the Lord their God... ~Jeremiah 30:8
- “So do not be afraid, Jacob, my servant; do not be dismayed, Israel,” says the Lord. “For I will bring you home again from distant lands, and your children will return from their exile. Israel will return to a life of peace and quiet, and no one will terrorize them. ~Jeremiah 30:10
- For I am with you and will save you,” says the Lord. ~Jeremiah 30:11
We will learn and grow along the way of life, and as we walk in faith, and God will lead us. He saves us, Brothers and Sisters, and in His divine love, mercy, and grace, He teaches us and disciplines us. "I will discipline you, but with justice; I cannot let you go unpunished.” ~Jeremiah 30:11
But God says that along with justice, He will (also) bring us home from captivity.
Are your eyes still closed? Keep concentrating on God's Word, keep resting in His message (and hope!) to us today.
This is what the Lord says: “When I bring Israel home again from captivity and restore their fortunes, Jerusalem will be rebuilt on its ruins, and the palace reconstructed as before.
(19) There will be joy and songs of thanksgiving, and I will multiply my people, not diminish them; I will honor them, not despise them.
(20) Their children will prosper as they did long ago. I will establish them as a nation before me, and I will punish anyone who hurts them.
(22) You will be my people, and I will be your God.” ~Jeremiah 30:18-20, 22
Keep your eyes closed! And keep resting in God's Word. He is not done proclaiming His promises to us. Rest in this today:
“In that day,” says the Lord, “I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they will be my people." ~Jeremiah 31:1
Keep reading and resting in what God tells us today in the Bible. There is hope for the least of us and the rest of us.
- For I will bring them from the north and from the distant corners of the earth. I will not forget the blind and lame, the expectant mothers and women in labor. A great company will return! (9) Tears of joy will stream down their faces, and I will lead them home with great care. They will walk beside quiet streams and on smooth paths where they will not stumble. For I am Israel’s father... ~Jeremiah 31:8-9
- Their life will be like a watered garden, and all their sorrows will be gone... I will turn their mourning into joy. I will comfort them and exchange their sorrow for rejoicing. ~Jeremiah 31:12
- There is hope for your future,” says the Lord. ~Jeremiah 31:17
Do we believe that?
Close your eyes...will we rest in that?
Jeremiah did.
He relayed this message that the Lord had given him to the people, and to himself, and then, "At this, I woke up and looked around. My sleep had been very sweet" (Jeremiah 31:26).
God spoke to Jeremiah. Jeremiah heard what God said, and he received it. Then Jeremiah taught what God had taught him...to others, and to us.
This happened and was processed by Jeremiah while he slept, and then (after resting in God's instruction), Jeremiah awoke refreshed (My sleep had been very sweet" ~Jeremiah 31:26).
You may open your eyes now. Wake up and look around.
We have now heard what God said. May we feel rested and be refreshed by the teaching (and receiving) of God's Word today...
At this, I woke up and looked around. My sleep had been very sweet" (Jeremiah 31:26)
