Have we found any Easter eggs?
No--not the kind of Easter egg that's brightly (or pastel) colored and tucked behind a pillow on the couch, or that is sitting amongst books on a bookshelf. Not that kind of Easter egg.
I'm talking about Easter eggs that are hidden, yes, but not in a yard or a basket. I am referencing the Easter eggs hidden in Disney movies. Have we found any Easter eggs?
It is a known fact and (fan) game to search within Disney movies for hidden pictures, characters, and images that are from other Disney movies: a hidden reference, if you will...for the trained eye to catch. An example "Easter egg" can be found in the below scene from "A Goofy Movie" (1995), where all of the characters are Goofy-ish, except one: Mickey Mouse, who is tucked in with everyone else, but doesn't belong with everyone else. This is an example of one of Disney's Easter eggs.
But I dare say that Walt Disney was not the first to come up with Easter eggs (hidden hints within a larger scene/idea).
With Disney, an "Easter egg" is hidden within a scene.
Hiding something within a scene is something that Jesus Christ did also. The Bible has many "Easter eggs" versus, where Scripture speaks what is, but the verse also carries a hidden promise (God's promise) of what is to come. A Scriptural "Easter egg", if you will.
Have we found any "Easter eggs" in the Bible? (A Scriptural Truth within a Scriptural Truth?
Sure we have (whether we recognized it or not.) If we have read the words in red, then we have most likely uncovered a hidden "Easter egg" in Scripture, because Jesus is a realist. He always acknowledges the present pain/trouble/trial/sorrow/situation, and yet---He also always speaks of His promises for us in the midst of these worldly trials, and of His victory over these situations (and our victory over them in partnership with Him).
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” ~John 16:33
Did we find the Easter egg? Yes, we'll have troubles in the world---But take heart! I have overcome the world.
Easter egg found!

Let's try another: are you ready for the hunt?
Then Jesus told them, “This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written: “‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’ (32) But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.” ~Matthew 26:31-32
Did we find the Easter egg? Jesus is foretelling exactly what the disciples will do later that night (they will desert Him)... But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”
Easter egg found! Jesus has told them repeatedly that He is going to die, but here He hides hopes in their hearts by boldly verbalizing that He will rise from the dead.
What an Easter egg!

Not everyone will find the Easter eggs that Jesus has hidden within His Words. Only those of us seeking Him will find the hidden promises that the Word of Christ keeps.
The Jews then responded to him, “What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?”
(19) Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.”
(20) They replied, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?”
(21) But the temple he had spoken of was his body. (22) After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken. ~John 2:18-22
Did the Jewish people in the verses find the Easter egg? No--they didn't. They had no idea what Jesus meant by the Temple being destroyed and "raised again in three days".
But we understand that Easter egg, don't we?

Ready to go on the hunt for one more "egg"?
“In a little while you won’t see me anymore. But a little while after that, you will see me again.” ~John 16:16
Did we find the Easter egg?
The disciples didn't, and so Jesus explained it to them. His explanation is perfectly timely for us today, over 2,000 years later.
(17) Some of the disciples asked each other, “What does he mean when he says, ‘In a little while you won’t see me, but then you will see me,’ and ‘I am going to the Father’? (18) And what does he mean by ‘a little while’? We don’t understand.”
(19) Jesus realized they wanted to ask him about it, so he said, “Are you asking yourselves what I meant? I said in a little while you won’t see me, but a little while after that you will see me again.
(20) I tell you the truth, you will weep and mourn over what is going to happen to me, but the world will rejoice. You will grieve, but your grief will suddenly turn to wonderful joy. (21) It will be like a woman suffering the pains of labor. When her child is born, her anguish gives way to joy because she has brought a new baby into the world. (22) So you have sorrow now, but I will see you again; then you will rejoice, and no one can rob you of that joy. ~John 16:16-22
Wow. Did we find the Easter egg, now that Jesus led us right to it? (Here's a hint, this "egg" is the miracle of Easter and the key to our eternal salvation, and Jesus made it crystal clear to His disciples and to us.)
~~~
The Disney folks don't hide their Easter egg scenes and references so that no one can find them. Google the term (Disney Easter egg) and you'll find many references! Disney wants people to seek and see the eggs...and to tell others about them (when found).
Along the same lines, but infinitely (and eternally) more important: Jesus hides His hope from no one. He eagerly desires for us to have eyes to see Him: to search out His promises for us, and to receive the full hope that He intends for His Word to bring to us. ...And our job is to tell others all about these amazing Truths.
The Bible does not hide hope from the hopeless or light from those in darkness. God's "Easter eggs" are plainly found within Scripture for all with eyes (and hearts ) to see.
