God has good for us.
He actually delights to do good for us if we will just follow his decrees and obey his instructions (Psalm 105:45).
The Israelites were (ARE!) His people. He led them in their exodus to freedom and they didn't just leave Egypt (their place of captivity), they left with their arms full of treasure and in full and good health. (What more could we want?)
The Lord brought his people out of Egypt, loaded with silver and gold; and not one among the tribes of Israel even stumbled. ~Psalm 105:37
God has good for us.
Out of His protection and provision, the Lord led and fed the Israelites consistently with manna, quail, and water as they traveled through the desert during their nomad-era travels.
The Lord spread a cloud above them as a covering and gave them a great fire to light the darkness. (40) They asked for meat, and he sent them quail; he satisfied their hunger with manna—bread from heaven. (41) He split open a rock, and water gushed out to form a river through the dry wasteland. ~Psalm 105:39-41
God had made a promise to the Israelites and He desired and delighted to keep it to them.
For he remembered his sacred promise to his servant Abraham. (43) So he brought his people out of Egypt with joy, his chosen ones with rejoicing. (44) He gave his people the lands of pagan nations, and they harvested crops that others had planted. ~Psalm 105:42-44
Even though they strayed from Him in their attitudes and devotion sometimes.
Even though they grumbled along the way sometimes.
Even though they sometimes lost sight of God...He never took his people out of His sight or left them unattended.
The Lord loved the Israelites through it all even though and even through all of their shortcomings. He had good for them and He blessed them even though.
He loved the Israelites always...even though.
We are they, Friends. If we have asked the Lord into our hearts, then He leads us even though we turn aside from Him sometimes. He covers us and leads us today.
The Lord spread a cloud above them as a covering and gave them a great fire to light the darkness. ~Psalm 105:39
If we seek daily to know our Lord, then He feeds us with His Word and He waters our soul with His hope and love. Our daily bread ("manna"), sustenance/meat ("quail"), and "water" come straight from God's good hand to feed our souls, if we are following his decrees and obeying his instructions...and even though we sometimes do not.
They asked for meat, and he sent them quail; he satisfied their hunger with manna—bread from heaven. (41) He split open a rock, and water gushed out to form a river through the dry wasteland. ~Psalm 105:40-41
God has good for us.
He will not forsake us even though we sometimes forsake Him. He is our Heavenly Father and we, who know Him and honor Him are His children. He has promised to take good care of us...even though we sometimes don't deserve it.
He is good to us still, and His promise to His (Jewish) Israelite children extends to His Gentile (non-Jewish) children too:
For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. (27) And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes. (28) There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. (29) And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you. ~Galatians 3:26-29
For he remembered his sacred promise to his servant Abraham. (43) So he brought his people out of Egypt with joy, his chosen ones with rejoicing. (44) He gave his people the lands of pagan nations, and they harvested crops that others had planted. ~Psalm 105:42-44
God has good for us. And why? What does God hope to gain from his steadfast love and commitment to us even though we have and we will still fall short of deserving it?
All this happened so they would follow his decrees and obey his instructions. Praise the Lord! ~Psalm 105:45
Follow his decrees today, Brothers and Sisters in Christ! Obey his instructions today, Loved Ones in Christ!
God has good for us even though...
The Lord brought his people out of Egypt, loaded with silver and gold; and not one among the tribes of Israel even stumbled. (38) Egypt was glad when they were gone, for they feared them greatly.
(39) The Lord spread a cloud above them as a covering and gave them a great fire to light the darkness. (40) They asked for meat, and he sent them quail; he satisfied their hunger with manna—bread from heaven. (41) He split open a rock, and water gushed out to form a river through the dry wasteland.
(42) For he remembered his sacred promise to his servant Abraham. (43) So he brought his people out of Egypt with joy, his chosen ones with rejoicing. (44) He gave his people the lands of pagan nations, and they harvested crops that others had planted.
(45) All this happened so they would follow his decrees and obey his instructions. Praise the Lord! ~Psalm 105:37-45
God has good for us today.
