Aaaaahhhhh. Lean back today. Lean back into the arms of the Lord. He holds us. He comforts us. He rejuvenates us. He shepherds us. He loves us, Y'all.
We are His sheep. We might not relate to the term of endearment and protection that God calling us His sheep is...but God calls us His sheep repeatedly throughout the Bible, and it's a compliment and a comfort to us.
Sheep are pretty helpless on their own. They need a shepherd to feed them, to lead them to new food (provision), and to keep them safe. When sheep get separated or lost from the group, they need the shepherd to shepherd them back to safety and community.
Is any of this striking a chord in our heart today?
We feel pretty helpless on our own sometimes. We need our (Heavenly) Shepherd to feed us. To lead us to new provision, and to keep us safe. When we get separated or lost from a community of Believers, from church, or from God's call on our life to follow Him...and then we need the Shepherd to shepherd us back to His safety and community for us.
Aaaaahhhhh. Lean back today. Lean back into the arms of the Lord. He holds us. He comforts us. He rejuvenates us. He shepherds us. He loves us, Y'all.
“For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search and find my sheep.
(12) I will be like a shepherd looking for his scattered flock. I will find my sheep and rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on that dark and cloudy day.
(13) I will bring them back home to their own land of Israel from among the peoples and nations. I will feed them on the mountains of Israel and by the rivers and in all the places where people live.
(14) Yes, I will give them good pastureland on the high hills of Israel. There they will lie down in pleasant places and feed in the lush pastures of the hills.
(15) I myself will tend my sheep and give them a place to lie down in peace, says the Sovereign Lord.
(16) I will search for my lost ones who strayed away, and I will bring them safely home again. I will bandage the injured and strengthen the weak. ~Ezekiel 34:11-16
Are the words of God just what we needed to hear today?
It's a "Yes" for me.
~~~
We get lost.
This world scatters us.
But God finds us and rescues us.
“For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search and find my sheep.
(12) I will be like a shepherd looking for his scattered flock. I will find my sheep and rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on that dark and cloudy day. ~Ezekiel 34:11-12
And He holds us. Let God hold you today. Let His promises wash over us today. Relax in the arms of God today.
I will bring them back home to their own land of Israel from among the peoples and nations. I will feed them on the mountains of Israel and by the rivers and in all the places where people live.
(14) Yes, I will give them good pastureland on the high hills of Israel. There they will lie down in pleasant places and feed in the lush pastures of the hills.
(15) I myself will tend my sheep and give them a place to lie down in peace, says the Sovereign Lord. ~Ezekiel 34:13-15
Are we lost today? Have we strayed?
God's Word is calling us. He's searching for us. Let yourself be found by Him. And let the Lord bring us safely home to Him. He knows us. He knows all about us, and He loves us.
He knows we are injured and weak.
Let our Heavenly Shepherd bandage the injured and strengthen the weak today.
I will search for my lost ones who strayed away, and I will bring them safely home again. I will bandage the injured and strengthen the weak. ~Ezekiel 34:11-16
Aaaaahhhhh. Lean back into the arms of the Lord today. He is our Shepherd and we are His sheep.
Blessings,
